6 About Us: Ella Austin Community Center (EACC) strives to strengthen families by helping neighbors, especially children, overcome individual challenges so they can achieve success, stability, and independence. The Community Center is named after Mrs. Ella Austin, a historical figure who established a home for orphaned children on San Antonio s Eastside in the late 1800 s. Today the Center has grown to be of one of the largest multi-social service agencies in the city. The Center facilitates growth on the Eastside, within the Choice Neighborhood and Eastside Promise Neighborhood footprints, while continuing to respond to the needs of the entire Bexar County Community. With dedication to all who walk through our doors, EACC continues to exist as a central hub and one-stop shop for the social service needs of San Antonio.
