1 Rural Residential Properties Arranging an Electricity Supply to your Rural Residential Property Application Form and Supplementary Information This information is for the connection of electricity to Rural Residential properties: 1. Rural Dwellings including new underground service cables to property with new electricity supply requirements with increased electricity supply requirements 2. Rural Subdivision including property re-subdivision This document consists of two parts: 1. An Application Form (pages 1 to 4) 2. Supporting Information and explanations of how to proceed with an Application for electricity supply (pages 5 to 8) Please read the following information and ensure all the details requested in Sections 1 to 7 of the Application Form are completed and returned to Powercor Australia..The details contained in your Application Form may influence any financial contribution Powercor may make towards providing a supply and we recommend your Consulting Engineer or Registered Electrical Contractor assist with completing this Application Form. If you require a Firm Offer the Option Selection in section 6 must be completed prior to Powercor making an Offer for Network Connection Services. 1. Property and Installation Location Sketch To provide timely and accurate answers to your questions about cost we need to be able to accurately locate your property and, in the case of large rural properties, also identify the location of your proposed installation on the property. A copy of your title or subdivision plan will assist in identifying your property. If you are purchasing a property, the estate agent may be able to assist with a copy of the title or subdivision plan. In the event that a property boundary is not clearly defined the prospective customer shall be responsible for clearly identifying that boundary. Application Option (please choose only one option) Budget Estimate Provides an approximate cost only for making an electricity supply available to your property as well as outlining the options you have in choosing who performs the various tasks in making supply available to your property. Once you have been advised of the budget estimate cost, and if you then decide to proceed, you will be required to make a written request for an Offer for Network Connection Services. 4 $ (GST Inclusive) per enquiry unless advised otherwise by Powercor. In such instances, a separate agreement detailing the scope of works and charges applicable will be issued to you upon receipt of your application. The invoice will be forwarded to the applicant listed in Section 1 of this application, and payment is required prior to the issuing of the Budget Estimate. Firm Offer Provides a firm, all inclusive price for making an electricity supply available to your property in an Offer for Network Connection Services. If an extension of Powercor s electrical lines is required to make supply available to your property it will be necessary for you to complete an Option Selection prior to Powercor making an Offer for Network Connection Services. PLEASE NOTE: If an Option selection has not been indicated it will be assumed that you wish to pursue Option 1. Information relating to Customer Options can be obtained from your nearest Powercor office or Alternatively, visit and follow Our services> Electricity connections> Upgrade or extend electricity supply. When you request an Offer for Network Connection Services, Powercor conducts an initial assessment to determine if there is sufficient design certainty to provide the Offer. If design certainty does not exist then preliminary work will be required before an offer can be prepared. We will provide you with a separate quotation and Agreement for your payment and acceptance before we proceed with your preliminary design work. Preliminary design costs are nonrefundable and are separate from the Offer for Network Connection Services. Where easements are required from neighbouring properties significant delays can occur before an Offer can be made. Option Selection I have read and understand Powercor s Customer Guideline for Making an Electricity Supply Available and I acknowledge the Option selected is my considered instruction to Powercor Australia for the preparation of an Offer. If my subsequent instructions to Powercor change the Option indicated on this form I will reimburse Powercor any reasonable costs they have incurred in following this instruction. Furthermore I understand this request is for an Electricity Supply to a point to be nominated by Powercor and that I will need to engage a Registered Electrical Contractor to arrange connection to the installation(s). I acknowledge that electricity will not be connected until the electrical installation meets current Victorian Service & Installation Rules and a Certificate of Electrical Safety has been issued in accordance with Energy Safe Victoria s requirements. I advise Powercor that I want to pursue the following option in relation to the Contestable Works component associated with the augmentation project (place a tick in box). Option 1 Option 2A Option 2B Powercor undertakes all Network Connection Services and agreed Competitive Services work associated with the augmentation project and provides an all inclusive price. Powercor to provide costs for the Network Connection Services activities only and I will arrange all other works. Powercor to provide costs for the Network Connection Services activities and to seek prices for the Competitive Services through the Panel Tender process. I will manage the project and contractors. Applicant Signature I understand that this request is for Electricity Supply to a point to be nominated by Powercor Australia and that I will need to engage a Registered Electrical Contractor to arrange connection to the building(s). I acknowledge that electricity will not be connected until the electrical installation meets current Victorian Service & Installation Rules and a Certificate of Electrical Safety has been issued in accordance with Energy Safe Victoria s requirements. As detailed in Section 6 of this application I agree to pay the minimum charge specified when requesting multiple residential Budget Estimates and subdivision requests. Complete the location sketch in section 3 of this application Discuss your electricity requirements with your Registered Electrical Contractor (B) Upgrade to the existing electricity supply Complete the location sketch in section 3 of this application Discuss your electricity requirements with your Registered Electrical Contractor (C) Your Subdivision Plan (including proposed future subdivision) Are you subdividing now? - Include your plan of subdivision. Are you subdividing later? - Include a plan showing all proposed lot boundaries. Will you need to re-arrange supply arrangements to any existing dwelling because of this subdivision? You may need advice from your Registered Electrical Contractor to ensure all existing dwellings comply with the Victorian Service & Installation Rules. What Happens Now? Upon receipt of your completed Application we will determine the best way to supply electricity to the property, and provide you with an estimate of any costs or conditions to be met by you to make a supply of electricity available to your property. If we advise you that an extension or augmentation of Powercor Australia s system is required to make supply available to your property it will be necessary for you to complete a Customer Option Selection form, and then to complete Document ID: JEQA4UJ443MT Page 5 of 9 Issue 4/07/2016

6 Powercor s agreement/contract before any construction works commence. Please note that where easements are required from neighbouring properties significant delays can occur before an Offer can be made. At present up to 6 months lead time may be required to finalise the design work, arrange material manufacture and delivery, allocate labour and equipment, and complete all planning processes before the supply can be made available at the point of supply for your property. We recommend that you tell us as soon as you know your project is proceeding, and that you allow for this lead-time in your planning now. - We will provide a quotation with indicative timeframes and conditions to be met by you for connection to proceed. - We will confirm your point(s) of supply and works needed to provide supply to your property. - Where necessary, we will apply to other authorities for their consent or permit conditions. These conditions may affect your costs and timeframes. - Subject to third party considerations, we will provide your quotation within four weeks. 7 Example of Sketch Details Requested The location sketch of your property should provide the detail shown in the example below. The correct information will assist Powercor Australia in locating your property against the existing electricity distribution system. C h a m p S t. Property Boundary Location of installation or supply requirement. Please indicate any existing buildings connected to supply. Approx. North Every Powercor pole has an individual number. This number is either made of plastic - black numbers on a yellow background - or a strip of aluminium (8mm x 50mm) with numbers stamped into it. The number is normally attached to the pole approximately 1.6 metres from ground level. Note: On some poles there may be a round and/or square metal tag- the pole number is NOT on this tag. Further information If there are existing objects, e.g. rows of trees, existing buildings, which you consider may have an impact on an electricity supply extension (if required) to your property, please include details on the sketch.
