Accessories for the clock include the following items: Remote control panel (MCT-CT) for controlling the clock timer and setting the time display.the panel requires a cable harness assembly to connect to the panel and clock timer. Battery pack (MCT-BP) can be purchased separately or is supplied with the remote control panel for clock timer operation during a power interruption. Trim plate (MCTS-) and back box (00BB) are options that allow the clock timer to be remotely controlled when the clock is mounted high on a wall. The surgical chronometer must be purchased with the remote control panel (MCT-RC). This control panel includes the battery pack and cable harness assembly. A backbox (00BB) for the chronometer and a backbox (00BB) remote control panel may be purchased for mounting to the wall. Before using or storing the clock timer or chronometer, inspect it for any possible shipping damage. Upon receipt, remove the unit from its package and inspect it for damage or signs of rough handling. If damage is apparent, notify the shipping agent and your Square D sales representative. If the damages necessitate returning the unit to the factory for service, obtain a return material authorization (RMA) from the nearest Square D sales office or factory first.

For this reason it is recoended that this device be installed by a qualified electrician. Failure to follow this instruction can result in death or serious injury. Clock Timer The clock timer is equipped with a 0-terminal, printed circuit card connector that mates with a cable harness assembly, part number 0--0 (supplied). The cable harness assembly includes a mating connector (Molex #). All connections to the clock timer for power, remote control switches, indicators, and battery packs are made through the supplied cable harness assembly. The input voltage is specified on the rear label. Connect the input voltage to the black and white leads. The clock s normal operation is in the -hour mode from a 0 Hz source. For 0 Hz operation, cut and tape the ends of the white with red tracer jumper wire on the connector. For -hour mode operation, cut and tape the ends of the white with green tracer jumper wire on the connector. One fuse, which is accessible from the front, provides overcurrent protection. The fuse is a Littlefuse Type AG, / A, 0 V. 5 Bulletin No. 0--0A January 00 Digital Clock Timer and Surgical Chronometer Wiring Remote Control Panel for Clock Timer The remote control panel MCT-CT is for use with the clock timer and enables the clock timer to be controlled from a remote location.the panel contains the COUNT RESET, HOLD, HRS, and MIN switches, which are also located on the clock itself. The remote control panel also contains two rechargeable batteries ( V Nickel Metal Hydride) to permit the clock to count internally (no display) during a power failure, and a battery test switch. A charged battery causes the battery test light to glow when the battery test switch is pressed. The batteries are recharged by the clock timer. The accuracy of the clock timer when powered by the batteries is within one second per minute on fullycharged batteries. All switches are disabled during battery operation to prevent accidental resetting. NOTE: Fully-charged batteries will be completely discharged if power is lost for more than one hour. Two days are required for the batteries to become fully recharged after they are completely discharged. NOTES:. 6 Digital Clock Timer and Surgical Chronometer Bulletin No. 0--0A Wiring January 00 Battery Pack The battery pack MCT-BP is for use with clock timer and is used in conjunction with the memory feature of the control panel MCT-CT. The battery pack prevents time information from being lost during short power interruptions. The battery pack contains the two rechargeable batteries, which allows the clock to count internally (no display) when power is lost. CAUTION LOSS OF TIME INFORMATION Batteries will discharge if power is removed. Test batteries prior to use. Replace batteries if discharged. Failure to follow this instruction can result in loss of information. The cable harness assembly includes the Molex # mating connector. All connections for power are made to the three-point terminal block located on the bottom of the chronometer. The input voltage is specified on the rear label Connect the input voltage to the terminal labeled BLK & WHT. Connect the ground to GND. The connections for the remote control switches, indicators, and batteries are made through the supplied cable harness assembly. The chronometer s normal operation is in the -hour mode from a 0 Hz source. For 0 Hz operation, cut and tape the ends of the gray jumper wire and violet jumper wire on the connector. For -hour mode operation, cut and tape the ends of the white with gray tracer jumper wire on the connector. One fuse, which is accessible from the front, provides overcurrent protection. The fuse is a Littlefuse Type AG, / A, 0 V. The cable harness assembly is used to connect the surgical chronometer with its remote control and is supplied with the remote control. The recoended conduit size for wiring between the surgical chronometer and the remote control is 0. in ( ). Figure illustrates these connections.

It contains the COUNT RESET, HOLD, HRS, and MIN switches for operating the chronometer. The unit also contains four rechargeable batteries ( V Nickel Metal Hydride) to permit the clock to count internally (no display) during a power failure or a battery test switch. If fully-charged batteries are connected to an unenergized chronometer, the controls may not operate the chronometer when power is applied. Should this occur, discharge the batteries completely before applying power to the chronometer. The clock timer has two displays, one for elapsed time and one for real time. The controls are built into the clock timer. The COUNT RESET, HOLD switches are on the front panel. The HRS and MIN set switches are accessible through holes in the front panel. When power is first applied, the top display reads 00:00 for a -hour mode clock and :00 for a -hour mode. The -hour mode has a leading zero for 0- hours. The -hour mode does not. The lower display shows the elapsed time in all zeroes (00:00). The HOLD LED is illuminated. NOTE: In the event of a power interruption (when the battery pack is not used), the clock timer displays the 00:00 for -hour mode or :00 for -hour mode. 8 Surgical Clock Timer and Chronometer Bulletin No. 0--0A Instruction Bulletin January 00 OPERATION Setting the Clock Measuring Elapsed Time To set the minutes of the clock, press the MIN switch with an appropriate tool such as a pencil or paper clip. Press the MIN switch to advance the clock one minute; holding it closed advances the clock rapidly. Release the switch when the proper time is displayed. To set hours, use the same method, but press the HRS switch. When the clock is set, the colon between hours and minutes pulses every second and the time is displayed. Each time you press the MIN switch, the seconds count resets to zero to provide accurate start times. Simultaneously pressing the MIN and HRS switches resets the clock to midnight (that is, 00:00). Press the COUNT RESET switch to activate the elapsed time mode in the timer display. To hold the display at zero, press both the COUNT RESET and HOLD switches simultaneously. To reset to zero and restart the timing, press the COUNT RESET switch. At anytime during the count, press the HOLD switch to stop the count. The HOLD button LED lights when on hold. To resume counting, press the HOLD switch again. The elapsed time display format is initially in minutes and seconds. When the elapsed time exceeds one hour, the display format changes to hours and minutes up to hours, minutes. An asterisk behind the HR on the display window indicates the change in format to the hour and minutes display. Also, the colon is illuminated continuously in the elapsed time mode.
