1 Assistant Tourism Marketing Officer Are you an enthusiastic marketer who can multi skill, and have a passion for tourism? Council has a permanent full time vacancy for a motivated and experienced Assistant Marketing Officer to support Lake Macquarie City Council's Tourism department. This position is primarily responsible for providing marketing assistance to the tourism marketing services. You will also be responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Visitor Information Centre as required. Please note: The standard days of work for this position includes Sundays. This position will: assist the Senior Tourism Marketing Officer in preparing tourism marketing promotions and public relations material assist the Senior Tourism Marketing Officer in updating the website and other social media sites assist the Senior Tourism Marketing Officer in coordinating the annual tourism publications and membership material provide assistance to the Visitor Information Centre operations. You will have: a minimum requirement of certificate in Marketing or Communications discipline or demonstrated marketing and communications experience previous experience in a marketing environment highly developed communication skills and organisational skills combined with the ability to liaise with tourism operators and the public demonstrated experience in social media and online marketing Salary: $55,000 - $59,213 per annum plus superannuation Benefits of joining Lake Macquarie City Council include: 35-hour work week flexible working conditions long service leave after 5 years education assistance corporate fitness program free parking Please note as part of Lake Macquarie City Council's recruitment process, prior to an offer of employment being made, recommended candidates may be subject to a medical assessment. 3 1 Organisational and Purpose Context List the objectives and key accountabilities of the position: Reporting to the Senior Tourism Marketing Officer, this position is primarily responsible for providing marketing assistance to the tourism marketing services. You will also be responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Visitor Information Centre on occasion. It si essential that you are an enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational and customer service skills 2 Key Criteria Essential A minium requirement of certificate in Marketing or Communications discipline or demonstrated marketing and communications experience Previous experience in marketing or a customer service environment Highly developed communication skills and organisational skills combined with the ability to liaise with tourism operators and the public Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines and work under pressure independently and as a team player Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office programs and Outlook Highly Desirable Demonstrated experience in coordinating marketing and communication campaigns Demonstrated experience in social media and/or online marketing Desirable Knowledge of the City of Lake Macquarie 3 Duties 1. Assist the Senior Tourism Marketing Officer in preparing tourism marketing promotions and public relations material 2. Assist the Senior Tourism Marketing Officer in updating the website and other social media sites 3. Assist the Senior Tourism marketing Officer in coordinating the annual tourism publications and membership material 4. Coordinate the bookings and placement of advertising 5. 4 6. Processing of Tourism Association membership and database administration 7. Perform cashiering functions including receipting functions for payments, cash handling and daily reconciliation 8.
