2 world possible. Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service is a member of the network of national and international organisations sponsored by the Good Shepherd Sisters. Service Area The Family Violence Program sits within the organisations Young People Women and Girls and Financial Inclusion services. The service agreement is with the Department of Human Services and is within the requirements of the Integrated Family Violence Framework. The program operates within a family violence framework and works to support women and children in their own journey away from violence. The program has a multidisciplinary team of staff located in both a central office and from outreach locations across the Mornington Peninsula. The program provides the following: Community Family Violence Support, a local family violence service for women and women with accompanying children who live on the Mornington Peninsula. The service provides risk assessment, safety planning, outreach, support, advocacy, referral to crisis accommodation, parenting support, referral to agencies on the Mornington Peninsula and group work. Crisis Supported Accommodation, Valerie House provides short term, secure refuge accommodation for women and children from across the state who are escaping family violence. This is located at a secure address and supports families or single women at a time. Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service - Peninsula provides family and community programs including Family Solutions, community participation and community house programs, children s services, programs and housing for women victims of family violence, Financial Counselling and a no interest loans programs. 1. 3 Position summary The Community Caseworker provides case management to women living on the Mornington Peninsula that are experiencing family violence. The caseworker will carry an allocated caseload of clients providing short and medium term outreach and case management support. As part of the Community team of the Peninsula Family Violence Program (PFVP), the caseworker may also be out posted to other sites of GSYFS and external community agencies on the Mornington Peninsula. The Caseworker will receive regular supervision and ongoing support from the Senior Case Manager Community, who will also facilitate the allocation of cases to the team. In addition, one day per week the worker will provide telephone crisis response to incoming referrals and enquiries, from the community, other agencies and the police. The PFVP operates a 24 hour on-call roster and it is expected that all workers in the program participate in the roster Organisational ethos, values Key accountabilities 1. Meet program administration and reporting requirements that include the recording of data, writing of case notes and maintenance of case files to a professional standard. Professionalism 3. 4 Key selection criteria 1. Demonstrated commitment to social justice. 2. Tertiary qualifications in social work or psychology (Eligible for membership to AASW, APS or PBA). 3. Demonstrated experience in case management and casework including the ability to carry out intake, assessment and make recommendations on service response. 4. Demonstrated experience working with women presenting with complex needs and behaviours (e.g. substance abuse, mental health, parenting issues, disability, relationship issues) and/or from CALD or indigenous backgrounds. 5. Demonstrated capacity to apply appropriate theoretical frameworks to; a. understand the impact of violence on women and children b. to develop strategies as part of a case management response. 6. Demonstrated success in working with and maintaining networks and relationships with professionals from external organisations. 7. Demonstrated experience in preparing written reports, maintaining records, including case notes and data base reporting. 8. Demonstrated success working as part of an effective and productive program team, and to work independently as required. Key performance indicators 1. Case load is maintained in accordance with funding and agency requirements. 2. Client files, case notes and data requirements are maintained in accordance with DHS and agency standards. 3. 6 Additional information This position is based at the Mornington Peninsula site however all employees may be required to work at or across other sites from time to time. Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) All employees are required to carry out their duties in a manner that does not adversely affect their own health and safety and that of others by reporting all incidents and injuries as well as co-operating with any measures introduced in the workplace to improve OH&S. The organisation s collective agreement was negotiated with all staff and the Australian Services Union. The agreement offers many benefits. Salary packaging Salary packaging allows you to increase the tax free component of your salary. If you take advantage of salary packaging, your take home pay is increased. Salary packaging is available to all ongoing and limited term staff. In addition to salary sacrifice to superannuation, Good Shepherd offers additional salary packaging for up to 30% of your salary, capped at a maximum of $16,000. Other salary packaging options may also be available.
