7 Bangladesh, Timor Leste, Japan (List of member universities attached) and more feasible way for the universities located in the regions where Internet environments are insufficiently developed; conducts research and development of the necessary technology for IT human resource development in Asia while using the environments; and proposes, through field experiments, a new educational methodology for universities in Japan as well as educational institutions abroad. 4 Asia-Pacific Advanced Network (APAN) APAN members are the entities representing research and education network interests in the countries/economies of Asia and Oceania; Australia, Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, India, Pakistan To coordinate and promote network technology developments and advances in network-based applications and services. To coordinate the development of an advanced networking environment for research and education communities in the Asia- Pacific region. Central Asia and West Asian Institutes and Network Name of Institution/Network Member Mission Activities with UNESCO 1 Isfahan Regional Center for the Development of Science Parks and Technology Incubators (IRIS) Category II Center in Isfahan, Iran, under the auspices of UNESCO The centre acts as a regional platform for promoting the development of science parks and technology incubators mostly in ECO countries (including Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan). This Regional Centre is established to prepare the ground for the development of technology incubators and science parks in the region through technical training courses, exchange experience and information and assistance in institutional capacity building. The centre is also going to facilitate the international relations among science parks and incubators with their counterparts in the Design, plan and implement joint programmes with UNESCO, advocacy, information sharing, organization of regional training and seminars. UNESCO also participates in the governing board of IRIS.

The objective is fostering the culture of creativity, innovation and technopreneurship and identifying and encouraging Iranian technopreneurs through the world, and in order to disseminate the technology-based entrepreneurship thinking in society. UNESCO provides experts and resource persons as lectures to the workshops of the festival sessions. 3 UNESCO Chair on Entrepreneurship, Tehran University Member of UNTWIN hosted by Tehran University, Faculty of Entrepreneurship Missions of the Chair are: -Plan and develop academic and research programmes, as well as capacity building activities in the field of entrepreneurship as an interdisciplinary subject; -Provide e-learning and distance education modules; -Develop curricula and materials tailored to the local conditions of regional countries; - Publish an international journal of entrepreneurship, Support from Tehran Office, UNTWIN and Sectors of ED, SC: technical lectures, workshops, UNDAF input related to job creation and support to young people.

The IOR-ARC Regional Centre for Science and Technology Transfer aims developing research, policy and human resources as well as supporting development of new technologies, joint cooperation and transfer of technology among the Member States and other countries, focusing on: Consultation with UNESCO on programming and priority setting, development of joint workshops and meetings. - Supporting technology transfer, development and management; - Supporting the formulation
