1 Battery Seminar August 27, 2015 Scandic Asker Hotel, Askerveien 61, Norway 1384 The seminar program focuses on present and future needs of portable and stationary electrochemical energy sources and highlights the latest technological developments designed to satisfy application requirements. The program reviews primary and rechargeable batteries and their accessories. The seminar program reviews typical cycle life aspects of designing and manufacturing energy source solutions: from application energy requirements, power source electrical and mechanical design, cells selection, cells evaluation tests, battery prototype, acceptance tests, design and manufacturing techniques, testing, mass production, safety issues, transportation, use and disposal. Special focus is given to battery design and testing aspects which are vital tools for battery solution. The program trains attendees on safety issues along the energy source solution cycle life. The program also gives an introduction to new Lithium Sulfur technology from Oxis Energy, and Inductive smart battery technology and concept from Wireless Power & Communication. 3 About Oxis Energy OXIS Energy (OXIS) has been at the forefront of building Next Generation Battery since The company has developed its unique technology around sulfur based cathode materials, highly stable electrolyte systems and anode made of Lithium metal and intercalation materials. OXIS are based on the Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire where the original Lithium-Ion batteries were first developed and prototyped. We have well equipped laboratories with state of the art equipment and large dry room facilities. OXIS and its research partners are focussing on the development of the world leading Li-S chemistry that can be used in a wide variety of battery. Mass production of the cells is handled by licensees, including GP Batteries of Singapore. Several Battery Integration partners are developing batteries for the many of the technology. OXIS has 20 patent families with 61 patents granted and 59 pending. The patents cover electrolyte systems for lithium sulfur cells, methods of lithium sulfur cell construction and also positive and negative electrodes. The patent portfolio is rapidly growing and it reflects success of our research and development program.
