Founded in 1916 in Milan, it supplies its products to the most important industrial sectors (i.e. steel, aluminum, mining, oil & gas, chemical and transportation) and the most highly qualified operators in the energy sector (production, distribution and transmission).

More than 8,300 Tamini transformers have been manufactured and installed for customers in more than 90 countries around the world. Tamini manages 4 production plants in Italy and operates through its own facilities in the USA and North Africa. At present, approximately 60% of company turnover comes from exports, particularly from emerging countries. Since 2014, Tamini has been part of the Terna Group, the Italian Electricity Transmission Grid Operator, the Europe's leading independent operator in terms of kilometres of electricity lines managed: a solid industrial enterprise, financially stable, at the forefront in the energy sector, and with the aim of consolidating high-quality synergies and new levels of development.

A specific product for each customer Tamini sits down with its customer to share requirements and identify the technological solution which is most suited to the customer s need. Tamini studies and creates ad hoc electrical diagrams, to produce custom made transformers, all of which are carefully tested with performance simulation within the industrial setting in which they will operate, with the aim of ensuring perfect product compatibility with existing equipment. 9 Tamini operates through four manufacturing plants in Northern Italy. Production of a broad range of specialised transformers is fully integrated among the four Italian factories. Melegnano - This is the historical headquarters of the company where, starting in 1950, Tamini contributed to the post-war reconstruction of Italy and the industrialisation which was the foundation of the Italian economic boom. The plant has been renovated and developed according to the highest technological standards. - Specialised in the production of medium-sized transformers (up to 150 MVA) intended for special and industrial use. - Total surface area of 11,000 m 2. Legnano - Specialised in large-scale products (up to 765 kv and 1,000 MVA, with unit weight which can reach 400 tonnes): transformers for generation, transmission and primary distribution, and transformers for the supply of energy, or transformer modules. - Equipped with a testing room which operates with the most advanced test instruments. All types of routine test are carried out, as well as special and type tests. - Total surface area of 17,000 m 2.
