1 BUILDING DEPARTMENT FEES 1. CHANGE OF USE FEES. The following fees shall be charged for a certificate of completion: a. For changes of use that range in cost from $0 to $5,000: $500. b. For changes of use that range in cost from $5,000 to $10,000: $1, ELEVATOR CARD OF COMPLIANCE The fee for processing each compliant elevator inspection report shall be $5. All elevator cards can be posted in the elevator or maintained in an office for public and Building Department viewing. 3. NON-RESIDENTIAL (COMMERCIAL) CONSTRUCTION The permit fee for nonresidential (Commercial) construction of a new building or structure or for the alteration of an existing building or structure shall be $300, plus $10 for each $1,000 or fraction thereof of construction cost up to an including $50,000 and $20 for each $1,000 or fraction thereof of construction cost over $50, DEMOLITION PERMIT fees shall be as follows: A. Single- or two-family residence or part thereof: $250. B. Garage or other structure accessory to a single- or two-family residence: $50. C. Any other building, structure or part thereof: $100, plus $10 per 100 square feet of floor area to be demolished, with a maximum of $1,000, inclusive of the base fee of $100. D. If the demolition is a necessary part of an alteration for which an alteration permit has been issued, no fee shall be required for such demolition. 5. CERTIFICATES OF OCCUPANCY. a. The fee for an original certificate of occupancy for all buildings shall be $30 for the first $1,000 of construction costs, plus $3 per $1,000 of cost above $1,000, up to a maximum fee of $500. b. A temporary certificate of occupancy (TCO) shall require a fee of $150 + written request to the Bldg. Dept. Supt. c. For any certified copy of the original certificate, the fee shall be $75. d. for a letter in lieu of, if no certificate of occupancy exists shall be $30. e. for a certificate of approval of alteration shall be $25. 1

The fee for a permit for the installation or alteration of one or more elevators or escalators in, upon or accessory to a building or structure shall be $50 when the estimated cost is $1,000 or less, plus $15 for each additional $1,000 or part thereof. If, however, such elevators or escalators are part of the construction of a new building or alteration for which a permit has been issued, no separate fee shall be charged. g. The permit fee for a temporary structure shall be $100 + letter to Board of Trustees and Bldg. Dept. Supt. (Omit Chapter paragraph C.) h. AFTER A PERMIT HAS BEEN ISSUED, NO FEE PAID PURSUANT TO THIS CHAPTER SHALL BE REFUNDED FOR ANY REASON (Chapter 50). 6. SECURITY GATE: The permit fee for the erection, installation or alteration of a security gate shall be $50 for the first $1,000 or less of estimated cost of erection, installation or alteration of a security gate and an additional $15 for each additional $1,000, or part thereof, of estimated cost of erection, installation or alteration of a security gate. 7. WOOD, PELLET, AND GAS BURNING STOVE the fee shall be the minimum permit fee + certificate of alteration fee. 8. SIGN PERMIT FEE: $.75 per square foot, minimum fee is $ HEATING EQUIPMENT PERMIT FEE: $25.00 for oil burner or oil tank. 10. TEMPORARY TRAILERS, MOBILE HOMES, AND TENTS is $ letter to the Board of Trustees and the Bldg. Dept. Supt. a. In addition, no such tent shall be erected or used until a permit has been issued by the Superintendent of the Building Department pursuant to compliance with rules and regulation of the Building Department. 11. ZONING BOARD APPLICATION: One family or Two Family Residence $ Signs (per sign) $ All Others $ PLANNING BOARD APPLICATON: The application fee is $ RESIDENTIAL WINDOW GUARDS: A landlord fee of $10.00 per window, charged to tenant, and a written request to landlord with copy sent to the Bldg. Dept. 14. STREET AND SIDEWALK OBSTRUCTION FEE: is $40.00 plus $.10 per square foot, per day. 15. STREET AND SIDEWALK OPENING FEE: is $45.00 per opening and $2,500 deposit required (plumbing contractors only). 16. GASOLINE AND OTHER STORAGE TANK FEES: $ REMOVAL OF TANK $ TANK REMOVAL & STORAGE ARE NO LONGER ENFORCED BY VILLAGE, ONLY NASSAU COUNTY DEPT. OF HEALTH TRANSPORTING OF GAS /STORAGE TANK $

BUILDING PERMIT FEES FOR RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION shall be $50.00 for the first $1000 in construction costs, and each addition $1000 of construction cost or part thereof shall be $15.00 per thousand. 18. CERTIFICATE OF ALTERATION: The fee shall be $ CONTROL OF BACKFLOW AND CROSS-CONNECTIONS Installation of all devices shall be done by a plumber licensed by the incorporated Village of Hempstead upon payment of a permit fee according to the following schedule: (1) Up to one-inch device: $25. (2) One-and-one-half- to three-inch device: $50. (3) Four-inch and over device: $100. (4) All commercial buildings must have at least a double check valve installed on the service line. 20. PLUMBING PERMIT FEES A. Permits shall be required for the following plumbing or gas installations. s therefor shall be as follows: Installation Minimum inspection fee $35 Plumbing fixtures (more than 1, not more than 5) $70 Each additional plumbing fixture $10 Plumbing alterations $60 Extend vent stack $50 Boilers, hot-water heaters and tankless coil, gas, oil or electric hot-air furnaces $25 Sewer permit (new or repair) $50 Water service connection $50 Water service disconnect $35 Sewer disconnect $35 Gas meter $20 Each additional gas meter $10 Water connection to appliances or equipment $25 Water privileges, per family unit $25 Interior alteration to gas piping $50 Swimming pool, above or below grade $100 Water meter installation $10 3

4 Fire sprinkler/standpipe system $75 Installation of grease interceptors Inside grease trap $25 Outside grease trap $50 B. Wet cuts. (1) The following fees shall be charged for permits for wet cuts: Size (inches) 4 x 4 $1,889 6 x 4 $2,226 6 x 6 $2,353 8 x 4 $2,353 8 x 6 $2, x 4 $2, x 6 $2, x 4 $3, x 6 $3,342 (2) For all other sizes other than the above, the fees do not include parts and labor. C. The fee for the renewal of a plumbing license shall be $75.00 for a one year period, due the 31 st of December. D. Additional charges. There shall be, in addition to the fee set forth above, a fee of $200 for each additional tap in excess of four taps per job. A 1 tap fee is $ ELECTRICAL PERMITS FEES A. The fee for renewal of electrical licenses shall be $ for a two (2) year period due the 31 st of December. B. The minimum electrical inspection fee shall be $45. 4

5 C. s for permits. All fees for permits shall accompany each application and be paid to the Village Clerk. (1) The following fees shall be charged for permits: Number of Outlets 1 to 10 $6 11 to 25 $8 26 to 50 $10 51 to 75 $12 76 to 100 $14 Plus $2 for each additional 100 outlets or part thereof. (2) The following fees shall be charged for burner, sign and motor permits: Type of Installation Gas and oil burners, including circulator $6 Signs (watts) Less than 500 $5 500 to 2,500 $6 2,500 or over $9 Motors, each 5 horsepower or less $6 6 to 10 horsepower $8 11 to 25 horsepower $10 26 to 50 horsepower $12 51 horsepower or over $14 (3) The following fees shall be charged for permits for new or replaced services with one meter: Amperes 60 $8 100 $9 150 $ $ $ $20 Over 600 $25 Plus $5 for each additional meter (4) The following fees shall be charged for distribution panel permits: Type of Installation Distribution panels only, any size $5 s for distribution panels apply when not installed in connection with service installation and replacements. 5

There shall be, in addition to the fees set forth above, a fee of $5 for the inspection of the installation of each unit of any miscellaneous equipment, regardless of size or capacity, such as air conditioners, X-ray apparatus, sterilizing equipment, rectifiers, motion-picture projectors, electric heaters, ranges, water heaters, electric washing machines and dryers, electric dishwashers, electric garbage disposals, ornamental wiring of a temporary nature, grounding of aluminum siding, repair of service, poles and light standards. 6
