1 SETUP for Kyocera Torque: Direct Connect only works when you are in CDMA only/ 3G. If you swap over to the LTE/4G, your direct connect WILL NOT work. Sprint is coming up with a software upgrade in 2013 (not sure of the date) that will allow Sprint Direct Connect to run off of LTE/4G. Set up GCCISD 1. Tap on Icon 2. Type in and password (that you use to login) 3. Click on Manual Setup 4. Click on Microsoft Exchange account 5. Enter Username (it will have it populated, but you will need to change it to be the correct username) 6. Server - xcas.gccisd.net 7. Domain: gccisd 8. Click on Next 9. (Follow prompts all the way through) 10. It will ask you to input a pin or passcode for the device 11. Once the passcode is in place, will start coming through Set up GMAIL account through GCCISD: Go to the Google Play store app, and it will ask you to create a GMAIL account: 1. Click on Existing 2. Type in your GCCISD 3. Type in your password (some of you already have a GMAIL account set up for your tablets) If this is your first time to get a GCCISD GMAIL account, then use gccisdtablet as your password. 4. You need to download Google Device Policy from the Play store 5. It will then add you your cell phone to the GMAIL account Mobile Network Coverage Since Direct Connect only works in 3G, GCCISD would like for you to keep it on 3G. Here are the settings to get your network settings.

5 * Purchase Order Requisitions can t be approved with this phone. GREEN IS GOOD 1.) There is an Arrow in the top bar of your home screen. This is the Direct Connect arrow. This arrow must be Green in order for direct connect to work. When you are on a voice call, the arrow will change to red meaning a direct connect call can t go through. Direct connect is a one way communication, and if you are on a voice call Direct Connect will not work. If you are not on a voice call, and the arrow is red, you may need to power the phone off, then on to get back to green. Green is good. 2.) If you press the contact button, bottom of home screen (blue and white face icon), Both Direct Connect and Phone contacts are displayed. Once you have the person you would like to contact pulled up, if you Push DC Only, it will connect you to the correct direct connect number. If you try to direct connect the actual phone number, it will not work. TEAM DC is located in the Group Icon with the Direct Connect Button. 3.) If you press the call button (blue phone icon) at the bottom of the home screen you will 5 separate tabs. During a Direct Connect Call, you will receive a beep if you get a call or . We turned this off for Transportation because it was distracting. Here is the setting to turn off the beep sound.

6 Beep During a DC Call While on a DC call, you can control the beep sound for missed DC calls, Invites, Call Alerts and Availability Notifications. Press Home > Menu > System settings > Direct Connect settings. Select the Beep during DC call check box to hear the sound during DC calls, or clear the check box to mute it. 5.) The Speaker button is an actual black hard button on the very top of your phone. If you click this, your direct connect button may be green, but will have red in the 3 lines coming from the arrow. This means Direct Connect will work, but you will have to put the phone to your ear to hear what is being said. This works great when you need privacy for a direct connect call. Press again to turn speaker on or off. 6.) Need to use Call Forward: 1. Press Home > >. 2. Touch. 3. Enter the area code and phone number to which you want your calls forwarded. 4. Touch. You will hear a tone to confirm the activation of Call Forwarding. To deactivate Call Forwarding: 1. Press Home > >. 2. Touch. 3. Touch. You will see a message and hear a tone to confirm the deactivation
