2 About the Red Ribbon 5K & Walk The Red Ribbon 5K & Walk is an annual fundraiser benefiting the Roper St. Francis Ryan White Wellness Center. This annual event has grown from a walk in 2009 to an official, timed 5K run and the only HIV/AIDS walk in the Lowcountry. The Red Ribbon 5K & Walk continues to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS to eliminate the stigma and shame associated with the disease. South Carolina consistently remains within the top 20 states for the highest HIV/AIDS rates. Charleston ranks 19 th among metropolitan cities in the nation. About the Ryan White Wellness Center The Roper St. Francis Ryan White Wellness Center is a federally funded program that provides free comprehensive medical care, medical case management and supportive services for adults living with HIV/AIDS in the tri-county area. Our name reflects our commitment to a holistic approach to wellness. Since 2000, the Roper St. Francis Ryan White Wellness Center has been committed to the care of the whole person in comfortable, welcoming environment.

3 Not Your Average 5K We Run the Night! On Friday, September 18, Charleston will come together to run, walk, and party with a purpose! This year, the Red Ribbon 5K & Walk will take place at twilight followed by an after party of food, music, fun and games. We ll host some of Charleston s best vendors to include Zombie Bob s Pizza and Frothy Beard Brewing! Why We Need You You are important to the success of the Red Ribbon 5K & Walk.
