2 What is the Beach Bash? The Beach Bash is an annual event hosted by Autism Family Services of New Jersey for individuals and their families living with autism spectrum disorders. This free event is held each September in Belmar for families and includes organized activities, DJ, arts and crafts tent, informational vendors, lunch, beach games and more. In 2014, close to 7,000 people joined us on the 7th Avenue beach in Belmar, NJ. The Beach Bash remains the largest gathering of individuals with autism and their families in NJ. The day event also attracts visitors from surrounding states such as New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. How Can I Participate? Volunteer Opportunities Volunteers are needed for the 2015 Beach Bash event. We can not run this event without volunteers and you are a valuable part of the day. Key Areas for Volunteers in 2015 will be: Games (hands on interaction with children, carnival games) Activities (hands on interaction with children, painting, building, arts and crafts) Staff Support (supports our staff members in the following areas: Games, Activities, Food, Registration, Merchandising, Surf, Information, Coordination, Exhibitor) Volunteer Support (supports rotation of specific tents) If you or your organization are interested in participating, please complete our online volunteer application at Life with a special needs child is extremely challenging, physically and emotionally. It was so nice to enjoy a relaxing day with our son in a community with so much support. We went by ourselves, but ended up meeting many friends we knew from other special needs venues. 7 Benefits for Exhibitors Exhibitor Opportunities In 2014, close to 7,000 people from the autism community attended the event. All attendees have a specific interest in autism, making this a prime target for ASD products, services and programs. Majority of attendees are from New Jersey with some individuals traveling as far as Delaware, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Autism Family Services of New Jersey will include a link to all approved vendor websites on our website through December Standard Booth Equipment & Information All exhibitors must check in at the Registration tent located at 7th Street entrance, prior to any set up. Exhibitor Check In line provided for quick check in. Exhibitor Coordinator to provide you with your assigned table, and her contact information and Exhibitor volunteer to escort you to area where table is located with your table identification. Set up begins at 6:30 a.m. and all exhibitors must set up by 8:00 a.m. Vendors are responsible for setting up and taking apart their own space. Please note that the event is physically on the beach, in the sand, and loading of materials is the sole responsibility of the exhibitor. Each space will consist of one 6 foot table and two chairs. Exhibitors can choose to upgrade to a Premium 10 x 10 exhibitor tent space (tent not included) for increased and concentrated exposure. Includes two wristbands for the lunch tent. Electricity is available on a first come, first serve basis for an additional $25 per space. If at any time you need to leave your booth, please be aware that Autism Family Services of New Jersey is not responsible for your belongings. All exhibitor applications are pending approval of the review committee. A decision will be made within two weeks of submission. Once reviewed, all applicants will be notified as of the final decision of participation.
