4 Behavior Expectations Students participating in Eagle s Nest will follow the same school-wide expectations for conduct that are expected during the school day. All of our expectations put safety first and benefit each child in our program. Everyone is able to have an equal opportunity to fully participate in and enjoy our time together when we are all respectful of each other and responsible for ourselves and our choices. If a discipline or safety issue arises with your child, we will discuss it with you. Depending on the incident s severity, we as staff, along with the program coordinator and Eagle s Nest director, will decide the best way to handle the situation. We will always keep you, as a parent, fully informed of any problems or concerns regarding your child and their behavior. Likewise, we won t hesitate to share any good news about your child. Feel free to speak with our staff if you have any questions or concerns. Eagle s Nest reserves the right to terminate service at any time without prior notice, should it be necessary. It is our first responsibility to provide a safe, caring, supportive and peaceful environment for children entrusted to our care. Anything that interferes with that cannot and will not be tolerated. Parents are expected to treat staff with the same respect. It is our privilege and our pleasure to be here and to care for all the students in the Saydel Eagle s Nest program. Health Policy If your child becomes ill while attending Eagle s Nest, you will be called to pick up your child. If your child is unable to attend school, they are also unable to attend Eagle s Nest. Please follow school guidelines for your child s return. For the childrens safety, all of our staff is trained in First Aid and CPR. Any accident or injury will be reported to you with proper documentation. If a child needs to be transported in an emergency, an Eagle s Nest staff member will always go with your child. We will only transport by ambulance. If it is not a serious injury, the parent would be responsible to transport the child. Authorized Pick Up Children will not depart from the program with someone other than their parents or parent authorized persons without a written permission form from a parent or legal guardian. If the staff does not know an individual who comes to pick up a student, they will be asked to show identification. Please contact the coordinator with any changes in pick up. Signing In & Out Every child must be signed in when dropped off in the mornings, and signed out every afternoon when picked up from Eagle s Nest. Eagle s Nest Handbook Page 4
