Our Purpose To enhance lifelong achievement through continuous personal development of key learning competencies: Collaboration Communication Creativity Problem Solving Self-Management Our Values Achievement Creativity Curiosity Respect Community Our Decile 6 School has around 540 students who come from a range of socio-economic backgrounds. Approximately 19% are of Maori heritage. A further 5% are from other ethnic backgrounds including Asian and Pacifika. Most students will move on to attend Papamoa College. The school curriculum aims to encourage students to understand and respect the different cultures that make up New Zealand Society, while recognizing and valuing the unique position of Maori. Papamoa School will take all reasonable steps to provide Tikanga and Te Reo Maori by consulting with the community when appropriate, providing staff professional development where required, exploring the use of local iwi and seeking advice from local Kura Kaupapa or dual enrolment for these programmes. Our Charter was prepared by the Board of Trustees, Staff and Community, through consultation.

2 Dear Parents, This report is a celebration of outstanding student achievement in Literacy, Numeracy and progress towards meeting specific performance targets set for the 2013 school year. We are very proud of student achievement levels and know that these are enhanced by the positive and effective home / school partnerships in place. The School, Staff and Board of Trustees, very much appreciate the wonderful support and encouragement you continue to provide. It is important to recognise that without dedicated, focussed staff, a proactive Board of Trustees and your active support, we would find extending learning opportunities and student attainment levels at Papamoa Primary School a significantly greater challenge.
