These items were collected, organized and entered into a computerized database by Al Ring with the help of many friends and fellow firefighters. 2 Explanation The following will be directions put together by Al Ring (this gives you someone to blame) on how to listen to live radio transmissions from many fire departments across the country including all Jefferson County Kentucky and Louisville Fire & Rescue. Though not perfect because it is from a scanner of many channels and it is also occasionally off line, it is much better than nothing. 2 2

3 On your computer go to type in RadioReference. I usually go to Google as you can see, type in RadioRefeence. In the index is shows up like below. Click on this site to open it up. You can just click on Live Audio 3 3

If it is green it is working, if it is red it is temporary offline. For all Jefferson County, KY departments choose the bottom one Louisville Metrosafe Suburban Fire 5-8 If you plan on listening to these departments often I would save this page as favorite so you can quickly get to here. Station Worthington Station 2 REGIONAL 4-DIGIT NUMBERING SYSTEM Fire Departments in Oldham, Shelby, Henry, Trimble, Bullitt and Suburban Jefferson County utilize a 4-digit numbering system that was developed by Retired St. Matthews Assistant Fire Chief Jack Monohan, in response to confusion during several major community disasters. Part of NIMS dictates that all resources will be designated by the type of resource represented. As a result, we are required to state the unit type prior to the number, when communicating by radio. Thus the term Engine before 1436 or Quint before
