Development of the periodic table: Mendeleev and Moseley How did they arrange the periodic table? Who was right? 3. Periodic table families: Know the names of the families and the specific properties of each families. 4. Atoms, ions, and isotopes: know the difference between all three. Know how to find the number of protons, neutrons, electrons, mass number, and the charge 5. Calculating average atomic mass: know what is need to calculate the atomic mass, and how to calculate it. 6. Periodic Trends: know the definitions of the four trends, know if the each of the trends increase or decrease as you move across and down the periodic table. 7. Lights and electromagnetic spectrum: know how to calculate the frequency, wavelength, and energy using the following equations c = λf E = hf E = (hc)/λ You will need to memorize the units of frequency, wavelength, and energy. You will also need to memorize the order of the electromagnetic spectrum from the highest to the lowest energy, frequency, and wavelength.
