Yellow flags or cards will be issued for unsafe actions such as (but not limited to): Low turns or low approaches, crowding or cutting off lower jumper and erratic canopy control A second safety violation, resulting in a second yellow card or flag, is the equivalent of the issue of a red card or flag (see below) The issue of a red card or flag will result in the disqualification of the competitor, which eliminates the competitor from from further jumping in the competition. A red card or flag can be issued without a yellow card or flag warning for any action that presents immediate danger to the competitor or others on the ground. Examples for this include low approaches or flying the canopy into any person outside or inside the course. Notwithstanding and in addition to the above, a competitor may be disqualified from the competition at any time by the mutual agreement of the Meet Director and the Chief Judge, if it is determined that the competitor is performing in an unsafe manner Competition break down: The competition has a maximum of 12 rounds which are broken down into Preliminary rounds, Semi finals and Finals

Preliminary rounds consist out of 6 rounds. The semi finals consist out of 3 competition rounds. Competitors with scores that result in the competitors ranking 1 st to 40 th after completing the preliminary rounds enter the semi finals Finals start after finishing of the Semi finals. Finals consist out of 3 competition rounds. Competitors with scores that result in the competitors ranking 1 st to 20 th after completing the Semi finals rounds enter the Finals The Finals and the competition is valid with the minimum of one completed round Semi final and Finals scores count towards the final score Jumping order Jumping order for Preliminary Rounds 1-3 will be determined in a random draw. Jumping and landing order for remaining preliminary rounds after completion of round 3 will be in reversed order of classification after round Jumping order for Semi Finals rounds and Finals rounds will be in reverse order of placing Exit order A random draw is performed to determine aircraft load and pass assignment Within an exit pass, the exit order is assigned based on wing loading with the higher wing loading exiting first The exit delay between competitors must be such as to ensure safe separation and time for any course judging If for any reason competitors on a pas determine they would like to change their exit order, they may do so by obtaining permission from the meet director and the chief judge before the jump There will be a maximum of 6 competitors per pass Jumpers must enter the course in order of exit. Any competitor violating this rule will be issued the maximum penalty for this round and possibly a yellow or red flag (or card) warning The aircraft pilot will signal the competitors when they are clear to exit. All the jumpers will be briefed on the specific exit and spotting signals before the competition begins.

18.7. Exit Altitude The minimum exit altitude with 5 competitors on one pass shall be 5000 feet AGL The minimum exit altitude with 6 competitors on one pass shall be 6000 feet AGL The minimum exit altitude with one competitor shall be 4000 feet AGL Scoring Gates: The entry gate is scored when any part of the competitors body or equipment breaks or passes through the imaginary line between the top of the two markers forming the entry gate. Failure to do this by vertical extension or by missing the entry gate will result in the maximum penalty for that round After landing and coming to a complete stop, competitors shall exit the course immediately. If a competitor does not comply with this rule, the competitor will get a maximum penalty / minimum score for that round unless the circumstances are beyond the competitors control. Any other competitor suffering interference as a result of a competitor not clearing the course immediately may be issued a re-jump Semi Finals and Finals rounds scores count towards the final score. Scores restart after preliminary rounds Malfunctions: A competitor experiencing a malfunction resulting in the use of the reserve canopy must make no attempt to negotiate the course and must utilize an alternative landing area. A competitor will be granted a maximum of 3 rejumps during the competition If two or more competitors approach and/or enter the course close together and in the process create interference between each other, a re-jump may be rewarded to the competitor that is meant to land first (18.6.). Passing through the course means a valid round and will receive a score. The decision is taken by the chief judge Re-jumps Competitors requesting or receiving a re-jump are responsible for any costs incurred for this jump Re-jumps due to weather conditions: Adverse weather conditions will not be accepted as grounds for a re-jump unless winds exceed the maximum limits or other conditions determined by the Meet Director or the Chief Judge Re-jumps due to interference from other competitors, jumpers or aircraft not part of the competition: A competitor who suffers interference from other competitors, jumpers or aircraft may choose to land outside the course and will be eligible for a re-jump by the decision of the Chief Judge

Conditions and wind speed: Wind conditions on the course may not be identical for all competitors at the time of their run A competition may be suspended if the Chief Judge or the Meet Director deems that the existing wind conditions may pose a danger to competitors The maximum allowable speed at ground level for the competition is 7 m/s in any direction on the competition course At the landing area there shall be a wind measuring system that shall be checked at 10 minute intervals. If the wind exceeds 6 m/s the wind strength will be monitored constantly A windsock will be positioned within 50 meters of the course and be fully visible for competitors approaching the course. The Chief Judge or the Meet director will determine its location, which is a fixed pace. The decision is not subject to any protest A wind direction indicator (streamer) will be placed by the Chief Judge or the Meet Director within 20 meters of the course. The position or type is not subject to any protest.

Rules specific to the speed courses The speed course can be laid out straight or carved. The course length (distance from entry gate to exit gate) will be defined before every round depending on the conditions When the speed course is laid out carved, the inside markers will be short markers with less height above the water surface as the outside markers The competitor has to score the entry gate and then remain within the boundaries of the course as defined by the hight of the the outside markers to obtain a score. The competitor must score the exit gate. In between entry and exit gate a vertical extension (above the height of the outside markers) is not allowed The time starts when any part of the competitors body or equipment breaks or passes through the imaginary plane between the 2 markers that form the entry gate The time stops when any part of the competitors body or equipment breaks or passes through the imaginary plane between the 2 markers that form the exit gate A marker body strike (any part of the competitors body contacts a vertical marker or sensor) will result in a 5 second penalty added to the competitor's time for each strike There is no penalty for landing before the end of the course, however the competitor must keep the canopy flying (kited, without touching the ground) all the time until he has passed the exit gate to receive a time If at any time before passing through the exit gate the canopy comes in contact with the ground, the run is over and the competitor will receive the maximum penalty for that round Rules specific to the distance courses The competitor must score the entry gate and remain within the boundaries of the course as defined by the markers and sidelines to obtain a score. The sidelines are part of the course The first point of contact with the surface, is marked as the distance If the competitor during flight leaves the course, he will receive a score of 0 (zero) If the distance course is laid out straight, after scoring the entry gate, vertical extension is allowed after passing the shore line The competitor does not have to touch water to obtain a score Water landings in between the entry gate and the shore line result in a 0 (zero) score.

Rules specific to the carved distance and S-carve distance courses The competitor must score the entry gate and remain within the boundaries of the course as defined by the markers to obtain a score. In between entry and exit gate a vertical extension is not allowed The S-carved course is set up as a left hand curved approach above water, followed by a short straight section followed by a carve in the opposite direction to the water carve Left hand vertical markers (in flying direction) in the curved section above water are short markers Measuring will be along the centre line of the course Rules specific to the zone accuracy courses Rules specific to the straight zone accuracy courses The competitor must score the entry gate and remain within the boundaries of the course as defined by the markers and sidelines to obtain a score. The sidelines are part of the course After scoring the entry gate, vertical extension is allowed To obtain a score, the competitor needs to score water points. If no water points are scored, the score for this round will be 0 (zero) Water gate vertical marker strikes with any part of the body will result in 0 (zero) points for this round The competitors score for a round is the sum out of the water gate points, the zone points and minus penalty points Rules specific to the carved zone accuracy courses The water gates are set up as a left hand curved approach, followed by a straight section on land. Left hand vertical markers (in flying direction) in the curved section are short markers Vertical extension in gates with short markers are measured at the hight of the longer markers (marker with top in 150 cm above water level) The competitor must score the entry gate and remain within the boundaries of the course as defined by the markers and sidelines to obtain a score. The sidelines are part of the course After scoring the entry gate, vertical extension is not allowed within the water gates. After the last water gate, vertical extension is allowed. Vertical extension within the water gates will result in 0 (zero) points for this round Water gate marker strikes with any part of the body will result in 0 (zero) points for this round.

In difference to straight zone accuracy rules, the competitor does not need to score water points to obtain a score for this round Scoring and zones for zone accuracy rounds For scoring and in addition to the dominant rules described in throughout , FAI rules / IPC rules for scores in Zone Accuracy apply (specified in point 7. Rules Specific to the accuracy event throughout of the competition rules for canopy piloting by the International Parachuting Commission (IPC),2014 Edition) Additional rules The King of Swoop rules in this Bulletin are made for the specific Empuriabrava Muga beach location. The rules generally follow the IPC rules but are different in some aspects The King of Swoop rules only cover the differences to the IPC competition rules for canopy piloting. Where details are not covered, the IPC competition rules for canopy piloting will be applied.
