The Lecturer, Mining will be expected to work as part of the MET Unit within the MET Team and will be required to travel throughout the Institute to various campuses for the delivery of the program. 2 Reporting/Working Relationships Senior Program Manager Manufacturing, Engineering and Organisation Chart Educational Manager Manufacturing, Engineering and Lecturer, Mining Internal: Reports to the Operational Program Manager, Manufacturing, Engineering and Transport (MET) program and is required to work as part of the successful Manufacturing, Engineering and Transport team. External: Clients of the Institute, service and resource providers and members of the public, as required.

2 3 Special Conditions Out of Hours Work: Travel: Location: Other Conditions: Some evening and weekend duty may be required. Some intra/interstate travel with possible overnight absences may be required. Given the geographic dispersion of the campuses within the TAFESA Regional Institute, considerable travel may be required to enable successful delivery of the program. Port Augusta A current driver s licence is desirable. This is a full time temporary position to 30 June Appointment will be with the MET Program at TAFESA Regional Institute based at Port Augusta Campus in the first instance. Required to participate in DFEEST Performance Management Program. The successful applicant must meet AQTF/ARC requirements for the delivery of this educational program, or agree to obtain the relevant qualifications within 12 months of appointment. Successful applicants at the Advanced Skills Lecturers 1 or 2 level will be required to perform their duties to the level outlined in Schedule 2, Clause S2.3 of the TAFE (Educational Staff) Interim Award. Appointment to this position will be subject to a satisfactory police check. Ensure appropriate administrative duties associated with the learning environment are maintained. Ensure the introduction of new technologies and foster their implementation into the educational programs. Contribute to the development of submissions by liaising with potential funding providers and other institutes. Contribute to the effective functioning of the Manufacturing, Engineering and Transport team, through active participation in and follow up on activities/objectives.

3 Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement in supporting a total quality system by participating in team discussions to enhance and improve operational outcomes, maintain high levels of communication and assist clients to meet their objectives. 4 Person Specification ESSENTIAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Educational/Vocational Qualifications A Degree, Diploma or equivalent in education from a recognised tertiary institution and/or industrial experience relevant to the position. Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills Proven skills and ability to successfully deliver training programs within the Mining discipline. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to use flexible methodologies to meet the needs of a wide range of learners, including members of Equal Opportunity designated groups. Demonstrated ability to operate with limited supervision within defined areas of responsibility. Demonstrated ability to work in a team and to participate positively to achieve work objectives. Excellent organisational skills. Demonstrated ability to interact well with a diverse range of people. Demonstrated skills and ability to interview and assess prospective students. Experience Experience in the field of Mining industries. Experience in assessments and program evaluation. Experience in working as part of a multi-disciplinary work team. Post graduate industrial experience in Mining. Knowledge A thorough and practical knowledge of Mining trade related areas. DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills Experience Experience in teaching adults in Mining.
