5 Hairdressing Certificate in Hairdressing and Beauty Services Level 3 Start: 2 March 2015 Length: 34 weeks (Full-time) Campus: Wellington Campus Start your career in the hairdressing industry with the Certificate in Hairdressing and Beauty Services (Level 3). This also includes the National Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support) (Level 3). You will develop a solid foundation in the skills required to work in a salon support role, including elementary hairdressing and make-up services, as well as professional customer service skills needed in a salon environment. You will advance your technical and artistic skills and you will also develop a portfolio of work as you learn about styling, colouring and cutting. Under the guidance of our hairdressing tutors you ll work on real clients in our salons, sample the industry first-hand with work experience, the World of Wearable Arts, and participate in hairdressing competitions. This programme will provide you with credit for the first year of a hairdressing apprenticeship or entry to further study on the Certificate in Hairdressing (Level 3) programme. Certificate in Hairdressing Level 3 Start: 2 March 2015 Length: 34 weeks (Full-time) Campus: Wellington Campus Progress on from the Certificate in Hairdressing and Beauty Services with the Certificate in Hairdressing (Level 3). The equivalent of the second year of an apprenticeship, you will gain more complex skills including styling, colour techniques, and develop your communication and customer service skills to enhance the consultation process. Learn how to adapt your skills to create a range of styles and build up a portfolio of work to showcase your achievements throughout the year. In WelTec s Salon CentreStage you will work with clients at a more advanced level of cutting, colouring and styling. You will also have the opportunity to gain work experience and to sharpen your competitive edge with hairdressing and photographic competitions. 6 Make-up artistry Certificate in Fashion Make-up Artistry Level 3 Start: 2 March, 13 July 2015 Length: 17 weeks (Full-time) Campus: Wellington Campus Gain an introduction to the make-up artistry industry. You will develop the skills and knowledge required to gain employment as a Make-up Artistry Consultant in pharmacies, cosmetic counters, make-up houses and television, or to perform editorial and photographic make-up and hairstyling. Hairstyling is a large component of this programme.
