2 Artists News The Hunters Hill Art Exhibition (HHAE) is celebrating 60 years in 2014 with exciting events, new prizes, changes to sections, and new venues. For more info visit Hunters Hill Art Prize The Hunters Hill Art Prize has changed to include eligibility of all selected entries, including SCULPTURE. Acquisitive Prize - Theme: Hunters Hill Modern To celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the Exhibition an acquired artwork will be placed on permanent display in the Hunters Hill Town Hall. Art works entered into this prize should be the artist s personal interpretation of Hunters Hill today. Water Colour Prize Introducing Watercolour Prize to recognise the artists who seek to master this medium. Smaller Works Prize The 9 x 5 category has been renamed Smaller Works, artists are now free to enter paintings or drawings up to and no larger than A 4, or 29.7 x 21 cm (Painted Area) The Art Walk The Art Walk will be bigger and better than ever with the Town Hall as the starting point and the lovely Congregational Church. The walk will now include the Vienna Cottage and the Masonic Hall which will house the Salon des Refusés on the 17 and 18 of May. All venues on Alexandra St are a short distance apart. Festival of Art - Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 of May, 2014 The streets will come alive with art over two days and nights. This festive weekend will see local businesses house pop-up galleries, art market stalls, free art lessons in a garden setting, tours and talks, a Salon des Refusés, food, music, wine and more. Salon des Refusés Sponsored by Eurodux Framing (People s Choice Award) The Salon des Refusés will be a limited and selected display of entries NOT selected by the Judges. The Hunters Hill Salon des Refusés will be rustic in presentation. It must be mentioned that Salon des Refusés are known as valid exhibitions of art. However you may decide not to be displayed in the Salon. If so, simply tick the box further on. Sales If you do want to sell your art we advise that it is sensibly priced artworks that sell.

3 PRIZES & AWARDS IMPORTANT DATES All entries will be eligible for the Hunters Hill Art Prize. Entry by: Friday 11 April 2014 Hunters Hill Art Prize - $5000 A painting, drawing, sculpture (new to Prize) or similar in any medium. Acquisitive Prize - $4000 Theme: Hunters Hill Modern Charcoal, drawing, painting or similar composed on the theme. The winning entry into this section will be retained by Council, with the prize money being in lieu of payment. Entry Form required for each artwork and payment no later than 4pm. 6 Conditions of Entry Conditions of Entry can also be viewed online at Interpretation of Conditions of Entry In the event of a dispute regarding the interpretation of the Conditions of Entry, the decision of the Hunter s Hill Council shall be final. Entry Fee $30 per artwork (inclusive GST). Artwork may be judged in multiple Prizes for the one entry fee. Entry fees are non refundable. Entry Forms - A separate entry form must be completed for each artwork. Numbers of Entries - Maximum 6 entries Originality - All entries must be the original work of the artist and completed within the last twelve months. Refusal of Entry Craft, digitially created & photographs are excluded from selection. Hunter s Hill Council reserves the right to refuse any entry. Sale - All entries must be for sale and all GST registered artists should include GST in the total selling price on entry form. Commission - A 30% fee will be charged on all sales. Acquisitive Prize The winning artwork will be retained by Hunter s Hill Council with the Prize money awarded in lieu of payment. Insurance This is the responsibility of the exhibitor. Council accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage. Copyright Hunter s Hill Council reserves the right to photograph works exhibited in the Hunters Hill Art Exhibition for the purpose of documentation and promotion. 7 Preparation of Artwork All paintings must be dry, framed or professionally presented, and ready for hanging with plastic coated wire and D-ring hanging devices. No screw eyes or projections on the item that could cause damage to other works. Frames or hanging devices requiring repair work will be rejected. A label with the artists name, phone number and title of work must be clearly marked on the back of the art work. These details should be the same as the entry form. Size Framed area not to exceed 1800mm (6ft) by 1500mm (5ft) - This also includes triptychs & diptychs (panels must be attached as if one piece of artwork) Smaller Works Prize - A 4, or 29.7 x 21 cm (Painted Area) Weight (Maximums) Hanging Art works - 15kg Sculptures - 50kg Sculpture over 20kg will need to be positioned by the Artist prior to Opening. Delivery and Collection Deliver and collect artwork to/from Hunters Hill Town Hall, 22 Alexandra Street, Hunters Hill. Works sent by freight/courier must be paid for by artist. All works must be correctly packaged. Packaging should be of a quality to allow for re-use and the safe return of works. Return freight/courier/post stickers must be included. Do not send artworks via Australia Post as they will not be accepted All necessary delivery and collection arrangements to be made by the exhibitor on the dates specified. Artwork can not be collected until after the Exhibition has closed. Any uncollected entries, will incur a charge of $5 per day or part thereof, and will be disposed of after a 4 week period. Judging and Selection All entries will be viewed and selected by the (3) judges for display in the Hunters Hill Art Exhibition. Artwork selection is final, no correspondence will be entered into. Exhibition Tickets - All attending the Exhibition must pay to enter.
