4 RULES & REGULATIONS 1. PERIOD AND VENUE OF CHAMPIONSHIP SAFRA-STTA Table Tennis Championship /Time The SAFRA-STTA Table Tennis Championships 2013 will be held from 13 to 22 March 2014 from 8.30am to 10.30pm. 1.2 Venue, 293 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh, S(319387), Multi-Purpose Hall, Level The Organising Committee, at its discretion, reserves the right to change the date, time and venue of the championship, if such need arises. 2. ELIGIBILITY OF PARTICIPANTS 2.1 This championship is open to all Singapore Citizens ONLY. 2.2 Player(s) must produce their identity card during registration. 2.3 Age qualification shall be based on the following: Age Group Birth Year Under 9 Born on or after 1 Jan 2005 Under 12 Born on or after 1 Jan 2002 Under 15 Born on or after 1 Jan 1999 Under 18 Born on or after 1 Jan 1996 Men s Veteran Born on or after 1 Jan Age qualifications for the NSmen team category are based on the following: Category Birth Year NSmen Team Born on or after 1 Jan Current National players and Year 2013 National players are not eligible for this tournament (applies to NSmen Team Category only). 3. REGISTRATION OF ENTRIES 3.1 Each participant cannot participate in more than two categories (restricted to the next age group only). 3.2 A team shall consist of a minimum of three (3) players and a maximum of four (4) players.

5 3.3 Each team is allowed to have 1 team player to be aged 15 years old and above. (Born on or after 1 Jan 1999) 3.4 Strictly no substitution of players is allowed after the registration closing date. 3.5 The registration fee is as follows: $10.70 Member $12.80 Guest $85.60 Team 3.6 The duly completed registration forms, together with payment, shall be submitted to the front desk of any SAFRA clubs, open from 9am to 9pm daily. A receipt will be issued. The closing date for registration is Mon, 10 Feb TOURNAMENT SYSTEM & RULES 4.1 All categories shall be played on a single knock-out or group round robin system depending on the number of participants. 4.2 The preliminary round for all events shall be played to the best of 5 games of 11 points each. Semifinals onwards for all categories except for Boys/Girls Under 9, shall be played to the best of 7 games of 11 points each. 4.3 All matches for Boys/Girls Under 9 shall be played to best of 5 games of 11 points each. 4.4 All matches for the NSmen Team will be played on single matches, in the best-of-5 (3 Single matches) based on the following configuration: A X B Y C Z A Y B Z 4.5 The Championships shall be run in accordance with the latest rules and regulations of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). Rules and regulations of the ITTF can be downloaded from Approved long pimpled rubber bat is allowed through the Championships. 4.7 The ITTF approved 3-star 40mm white balls shall be used during the Championship. 4.8 No white apparels (shirt and shorts) are allowed. Players who fail to conform shall be disqualified.

6 4.9 This Championship is part of the National Ranking Policy. Seeding for the next tournament will be in accordance with the National Ranking Policy All players are requested to bring their identification documents for verification on the days of their matches, failing which they will not be allowed to play Once entries have been accepted, no replacement / substitution of players will be entertained. However, the Organising Committee will consider requests for change of players if valid reasons are provided, on a case-by-case basis. No changes will be made after 12 Mar An open draw of Championship fixtures will be conducted on Thursday, 20 Feb 2014 at SAFRA Toa Payoh, Seminar Room, Level 3 at 7.00pm. Prizes winners are required to attend the prize presentation ceremony held at, Atrium on 22 March 2014 in proper sporting attire in order to receive the prizes (no singlet, slippers and sandals). 5.3 All prize winners must be present in person, in order to receive the prizes. No representatives are allowed. 5.4 If prize winners do not turn up during the prize presentation ceremony, prizes will not be awarded. 6. SUPPLEMENTARY RULES 6.1 The Organising Committee reserves the right to interpret or amend the rules and regulations of the tournament at any time. Notifications of such changes will be posted on relevant website. It is the sole responsibility of the participant to visit the SAFRA or STTA website for any notices or changes to the draw or schedules. Any changes will be posted at least 24 hours before the re-scheduled match. Any other rules and regulations that are not covered by the Rules and Regulations will be decided by the Organising Committee, whose decision will be final.

7 6.2 In any event of a dispute or seeking redress, please lodge your appeal in writing together with the protest fee of $50.00 with the presiding official on the spot during the match. In the event of the protest being dismissed, the fee will be forfeited. 6.3 In the event of any dispute arising over any player, the match shall be played under the protest and the Organising Committee shall determine the matter on receipt of the protest. 6.4 While reasonable precautions are taken, SAFRA, and its agents will not be responsible or in any way liable for any death, disability, personal injury, loss of property or any loss howsoever arising from any cause whatsoever at any time during the course of this event. 6.5 Please visit or for more information on the Championships or Shamela - sshamela@safra.sg if you need further clarifications.
