Management and behavioral applications of perception. Attitude: concept, process, and importance. Attitude measurement. Personality: Concept, nature, types and theories of personality shaping. Johari Window, Learning in Management: Concept and theories of learning I Motivation & Leadership: Motivation: Definition, Importance, Motives Characteristics, Classification of motives - Primary & Secondary motives. Theories of Motivation Content & Process theories. 2 HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT The basic objective of this course is to help the students to acquire and develop decision making skills in relation to managing people in organizations and to create an understanding of the various policies and practices of human resource management. Human Resource Planning-Concept and process. Job Analysis and Job description. Steps in Job Analysis. Technique of Job analysis data. Recruitment Search-process, sources and methods of recruitment. I Selection Procedures in HRM; - Concept and Process; Manpower Training and Development Concept and objectives; Methods for operatives training and management development programmes. Unit-IV Performance Appraisal System-Concept and Needs.Performance Appraisal Methods. (3600 feedback)sources of Employee Appraisal System. Psychometric Errors in Employee Performance Ratings;. Job Evaluation- Nature and Methods; Wage Determination; Industrial Relations, Concept; Conditions and Causes for good and poor industrial relations. Irrelevance of Dividend - MM Hypothesis; Relevance of Dividends Walter s and Gordon s Model. I Budgeting Concept and significance. Preparation of budgets Sales, Production, Cash, Master and Flexible Budgets. Cost of different sources of raising capital Debt, Preference capital, Equity Capital and Retained earnings, Weighted Average Cost of Capital. Multinational capital budgeting, Unit-IV Investment Decisions, Cash flows for Investment Analysis. Methods of Capital Budgeting; Traditional Techniques Payback period and Average rate of return, Discounted Cash Flow Techniques Net present value and Internal Rate of Return Types and Components of Working capital, Determinants of working capital needs, Management of Working Capital Cash, Receivables and inventory.accruals of accounts payable (trade credit),alternative sort term financing policies

Understanding consumer and Industrial Markets; Market Segmentation, Targeting and positioning; Product Decisions Product Mix; Product life cycle, New Product development; Branding and packaging decisions. I Pricing: Factors affecting pricing Decisions, New trends in Pricing Strategies; Promotion Decisions Promotion Mix, Advertising Models, Sales Promotion, Publicity and Personal selling. Unit-IV Channel Management Channel types, functions and levels, Selecting, training and motivating. Channel Members; Channel Cooperation and Conflict Management, Vertical Marketing- Implementation and Systems. Organizing and Implementing Marketing in the Organization; Organizing the Marketing Department; Marketing Relations with other Departments; Strategies for building a companywide Marketing Orientation, Evaluation and control of Marketing efforts Annual Plan, Profitability, Efficiency and Strategic Control

5 PRODUCTION AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT The objective of the course is to give an understanding of underlying concepts of production function so that the students get well versed with the production side of the organization also.
