6 BBA in Aviation Management Aviation Management is a unique specialisation offered by only a few universities around the world. It s tailored to meet the needs of the job market in the fast-growing aviation industry. The BBA in Aviation Management programme is designed in line with international quality standards. The programme aims to provide a high quality business education with a focus on the aviation industry. The curriculum is carefully designed to integrate core business modules with specialised major courses that focus on topics related to airline and airport management. 7 Applied Bachelor (BA Honours) in Business Management The Applied Bachelor (BA Honours) in Business Management offers students strong foundations in key aspects of business, along with the development of the required knowledge and skill sets needed for success in the business world. In the first two years, students will gain knowledge and understanding of a wide range of business issues and management skills, including managing human and financial resources, accounting, marketing, law, strategy and communications. In the final year, students will learn how to develop business management strategies and projects with an emphasis on sales, logistics and the financial aspects central to contemporary business practices. The following qualification is also available as an exit award of the Applied Bachelor (BA Honours) in Business Management programme: Higher National Diploma (Advanced Diploma) in Business Management 2 Years. 10 Extended Diploma (Certificate 4) in Business The Extended Diploma (Certificate 4) in Business provides students with fundamental knowledge and relevant skill sets to prepare them for employment or further studies in business. Students will gain an understanding of how businesses operate and what makes them successful. Students will study a wide array of subjects such as accounting, business law, economic environment, finance, marketing, organisational behaviour and human resource management. This is a High School equivalent vocational qualification, ideal for students aged 16 and over who are seeking an alternative learning environment to High School. Students will be introduced to principles of business through case studies and project work based on real-world business scenarios. Emirates Aviation University (EAU) incorporates industry visits and field trips into the curriculum to provide a holistic vocational approach. Overall, the emphasis is on practical knowledge and personalised learning. Career prospects Graduates will be qualified for employment in private and public sector organisations in an administrative business role. Successful completion of the Extended Diploma (Certificate 4) in Business qualification will allow students to pursue an applied bachelor programme in a relevant field of study. Two years. This programme is offered on a full-time semester basis. A typical two-year study plan. These include passenger liaison, ramp work, cargo operations and ground handling, along with traditional business and airline jobs, including customer service positions. The programme gives students a sound foundation in the aviation industry, while also developing their business skills essential to securing employment and facilitating career advancement. It is designed to allow students to study specialised areas that reflect their career aspirations and the diverse nature of the aviation operation industry. 12 First Diploma (Certificate 3) in Business Business Foundation Programme Career prospects The First Diploma (Certificate 3) in Business is a foundation diploma, which provides students with basic knowledge in business. This is a vocational qualification, ideal for students aged 16 and over who currently do not meet the entry criteria for our National/Extended Diploma. This programme is offered on a full-time semester basis. Six modules over one semester, in preparation for continued study on the National/Extended Diploma programmes. The Business Foundation programme will provide students with foundation knowledge and skills to prepare them for the three-year applied bachelor business programmes. Students will gain an understanding of how businesses operate and what makes them successful. They will study a wide array of subjects such as accounting, business law, economic environment, finance and marketing. Successful completion of the Business Foundation Programme (Certificate 4) in Business qualification allows students to pursue an applied bachelor programme in a relevant field of study. One year. Students will be introduced to the basic principles of business through case studies and project work based on real-world business scenarios. 13 English Foundation Programme The Foundation Programme Intensive English (FPIE) is a programme targeted towards applicants who do not meet the minimum English language requirement for our university programmes. Students will improve their overall English language skills allowing them to pursue studies at university levels, as well as obtain an internationally accredited certificate of English language competency. The FPIE prepares students to undertake the Academic IELTS or the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE). IELTS, TOEFL and PTE are the standard English language proficiency examinations, which are accepted by the Ministry of Education Higher Education Affairs for admission to colleges and universities in the UAE. Both IELTS and PTE are recognised globally and are valid for two years. One semester. Entry Requirement Applicants who do not meet the English Proficiency Requirement. This programme is offered on a full-time semester basis. Academic IELTS is an English language test that assesses all four language skills listening, reading, writing and speaking with the highest quality control and security procedures. The PTE is the latest internationally accepted test of academic English to enter the market and is fully accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education Higher Education Affairs. It provides an overall score based on communicative skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking). The FPIE programme focuses on the development of these four language skills, where at times these skills are taught separately, and at other times they are integrated. Blended learning techniques are used, combining traditional face-to-face and online learning so that the online component becomes a natural extension of traditional classroom learning. The result is a more robust and holistic educational experience than either traditional or full online learning can offer. Students can normally expect to be admitted into Emirates Aviation University (EAU) for either IELTS Academic or PTE Academic at the end of the semester
