3 Job description Job Tile: Responsible to: Responsible for: Treasury & Development Accountant Head of Finance Finance Officer OBJECTIVES OF THE POST Carry out efficient and effective management of treasury activities and development accounting, for all group companies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Treasury Management Ensure efficient and effective cash management, through the provision of short and long term cash flow forecasts. This will include monitoring the levels of unutilised security and loan facilities against the targets set out in the Treasury Management Policy. Control the movements of cash around the Group to ensure that levels and returns are optimised. Ensure that security is efficiently utilised and that the amount of security with each lender is effectively monitored, so that their requirements are met. Monitor compliance with loan documentation, particularly covenant compliance, and ensure that lenders reporting requirements are met. Ensure that interest is accurately reflected in the ledgers and that loan balances are routinely reconciled. Assist with the arrangement of new financing, as required. Manage, develop and motivate the Finance Officer 2 of 16

4 Development Accounting Provide key liaison between the Development and Finance functions. Maintain the fixed asset register of housing properties, including the recording property additions, disposals, depreciation and capitalised interest. Monitor expenditure on active development schemes (work in progress) to: - ensure the accurate recording of expenditure. - monitor actual spend against budget and report accordingly. - promptly identify potential abortive costs. Ensure the accurate interface between accounting ledgers and the subsidiary Development system (Sequel). Prepare quarterly reports to senior management analysing financial performance of recently completed schemes. Prepare accounting for shared ownership sales. Assist in the preparation of financial statements. Updating the property components on to the Fixed Assets Register with regard newly developed units Management Accounting Prepare the monthly management accounts and Board reports for Sustainable Homes Limited, Hastoe Homes Limited & Hastoe Capital plc Other Duties & Responsibilities Supervise bank reconciliation and payroll function. Complete the quarterly VAT return and calculate the necessary annual VAT adjustments. 3 of 16

5 Producing and updating procedure notes applicable in the area of work. Undertaking other ad hoc projects that are relevant to the operation of the department. Organisational Act at all times within Hastoe Group's rules, policies, procedures, standing orders and financial regulations. Support the development and implementation of the Greening Hastoe policy and strategy to support environmental responsibility. Uphold the Group s values, policies and practices in respect of equality, diversity and inclusion, and act as a champion for these in all dealings with colleagues, customers, partners and other stakeholders. Understand and comply with the organisation s health and safety policies and practices and ensure that these are administered in area of responsibility. Qualifications We will ask the successful candidate to produce original evidence of qualifications stated on the application form. If we find that incorrect information was knowingly supplied on the application form we reserve the right to withdraw an offer or terminate employment. Data protection and processing of information We will deal with all information you provide throughout the recruitment and selection process in the strictest of confidence. It will be used, stored, retained or destroyed in line with our data protection guidelines. The application form and your supporting statement is the only information we will use in deciding whether to shortlist you and invite you to an assessment and interview. 15 References On the application form we ask that you give details of two referees. Your referees must have known you in a professional capacity, as an employee or student, for a minimum of 6 months. One referee must be your current or most recent employer. References will only be taken up for successful candidates, see below for Hastoe s reference request procedure. References from friends and relatives are not acceptable. Hastoe will seek your permission before contacting referees. Reference Request - Successful Candidates This procedure applies to candidates directly employed by Hastoe Group. All candidates must provide the names of 2 referees on their application form, except for internal candidates see 6 in the table below. HR to take up references no later than 1 working day following interview and selection of the successful candidate. A conditional offer of employment will be issued, but it will be made clear to the successful candidate that Hastoe requires written references deemed to be satisfactory, (together with a pre-employment health check), before a formal contract of employment is issued and the candidate starts in the job. The target timescale for obtaining both references is 10 working days. Where a referee is not available to provide a reference within a reasonable timescale or is proving difficult to contact, HR will ask the candidate to provide an alternative referee, without delay. HR will provide updates to the Chair of the interview panel after 5, 8 and 10 working days. If, exceptionally, not all references have been obtained by the agreed start date, HR will discuss with the Chair whether or not the candidate should start on the agreed date, or whether the start date should be delayed. Once references have been received, HR will send them to the Chair for them to confirm that the information is satisfactory. If the information is incomplete, vague, negative, seemingly evasive or too general, the Chair or a member of the HR team will contact the referee to request more focused information. If, after further discussion, the reference raises concerns or is not to the satisfaction of the Chair, they will discuss these shortfalls with the panel before coming to a decision about whether or not to offer the job to the candidate. Where the successful candidate has been previously employed and does not supply a referee from their current or most recent employer, Hastoe reserves the right to contact the employer from the details on 14 of 16

16 the application form. HR will inform the candidate of Hastoe s intention to do this.
