1 B e t h e B e a t L o g o G u i d e l i n e s (Updated February 2011) Follow these Be the Beat branding guidelines whenever the Be the Beat logo is used. Note: lso follow existing H organization-wide branding guidelines. ny use or reproduction of these marks without the express, prior written consent of the H is strictly prohibited. The Logo The Be the Beat logo consists of: 1. Be the Beat (text) inside a caption box 2. Profile of a collapsed body 3. merican Heart ssociation signature (including heart & torch) icon* 4. The Be the Beat logo can be used as a graphic element as shown on page 3, but the H logo must also be used. Which Color Logo Should You Use? The Be the Beat logo uses the H s corporate colors of red and black. H s corporate red is PNTONE 485 (PMS 485) or the CMYK (four-color process) equivalent of 100% Magenta and 100% Yellow. The words Be the Beat can be printed in red or black. The body always prints black. The H logo can print red and black or solid red or solid black. The surface of the end product will also determine which logo to use: 1. H preference is to always use the 2-color logo. dd a white box to frame the logo for use on a colored surface if necessary. 2. Second preference is to use the 2-color red and black logo with the H in solid red or the 1-color solid black logo. 3. If the surface of the final product such as, but not limited to, fabric or embroidery prohibits the use of the 2-color logo, you may use a 1-color logo applicable to the final product size. 3 Be the Beat Logo Used as a Graphic Element When using the Be the Beat as a graphic element you can separate the logo from the merican Heart ssociation logo as shown in the examples below. (about 10 paragraphs) Develop plan with school nurse, trainer, physician or EMS as appropriate Notify local EMS dispatcher of emergency equipment on site Practice response to medical emergencies at beginning of every year and several times each year Refer reader to Risk Reduction section on page 7/284 of article. (about 5 paragraphs) Take steps to prevent injuries on playgrounds and in classes Identify students, faculty, staff with conditions that could be life-threatening and train and equip personnel to provide response Refer reader to Training and Equipping Personnel in First id and CPR on pages 7 8/ (about 8 paragraphs) Several teachers should be trained and equipped Refer reader to Recommended First id Equipment, see ppendix 2, Table 4 on page 12/289 of article. 4 Sizing Be the Beat Logos When using the Be the Beat logo, the merican Heart ssociation logo must be no smaller than 1/2 in vertical height, measured from the tip of the flame to the baseline of Learn and Live. If your product is 6 w. x 4 d. or smaller, you may delete Learn and Live and print so that the H logo is no smaller than 3/8 in vertical height. If the space on your product does not allow you to use the logo at this size, you must just use the words Be the Beat and merican Heart ssociation on your product. rea of Non-Interference The area of non-interference around the Be the Beat logo should equal the cap height of the in the word merican. This will ensure the logo is clearly visible in all presentations. This area is to be applied to all versions of the logo. page 4
