23 ODORLESS NT 1 Thio Free For Normal & Previously Permed Hair NT 2 Thio Free For Color Treated Hair Traditional perms vs. "thio-free" perms Traditionally, the most commonly-used ingredient in perming is thioglycolic acid (often referred to as thio). Thio is actually a salt and is the reducing agent responsible for breaking the disulfide bonds in your hair. Thio works great but one of the main issues is that it has a very unpleasant odor (If you ever had a perm I'm sure you remember the bad smell). Also, because of the very nature of perms, thio is damaging. On the other hand, "thio-free" perms use an ingredient (amino acid) called cysteamine. Cysteamine also breaks down the disulfide bonds in your hair. This chemical doesn't have the strong odor often associated with thio but it isn't as effective in producing permanent waves as thio perms (which also means less damaging). Does "thio-free" mean damage free?unfortunately, that is not the case. While cysteamine-based perms are less smelly and less damaging, that certainly doesn't mean no smell or no damage. This ingredient is still chemically changing your hair.

24 The ph Story THE COLOR RITUAL A. Clarify Hair prior to color application (ProRituals Clarifying Shampoo ph ) this will help remove environmental build up and supply additional Wheat and Soy proteins to hair. The addition of Daily or Color Therapy Conditioner can be applied to detangle if needed. B. Spray hair with (ProRituals Spray Treat ph ). This will even out porosity and add even more Proteins to the hair resulting in better color penetration during application. C. Add 5 grams of (ProRituals Hair and Scalp Therapy) to your mixed color before application. This will replace the fatty acids that can be reduced during the coloring processes. Adding Hair and Scalp therapy oil to you color formula allows you to process with heat if you so choose. Result: Prevents damage while adding additional moisture to hair. D. After processing. RINSE COLOR with cool water until water runs clear, DO NOT SHAMPOO. Condition with (ProRituals Color Therapy conditioner ph ) to close the cuticle and restore hairs natural ph balance. Shampooing can be done if needed after conditioning. (recommended for lighteners) Repeat conditioner. E. (ProRituals ColorFuel ph ) can then be sprayed into the hair adding more natural botanicals that shield hair from harmful sun exposure, insuring longer lasting vibrant color.
