The pristine yellow and black sand beaches are a favourite with all tourists so this is also the perfect place for your family! This cycling camp is tailored to cyclists keen to understand their current cycling level and looking for improvements. Treat yourself to a week of focused training accompanied by ex professional Angelo Furlan. Angelo is a specialist in training, bike fitting and power testing. His professional career spanned and he raced with teams, such as, Credit Agricole and Lampre. He had 10 pro victories, rode 13 grand tours and took 2 Vuelta a España stage wins. This tour provides specific daily training routines, plus themed evening sessions concentrating on nutrition, watts, resistance and speed. All this within a fabulous setting of sea and sun! 3 DAY 1 Saturday 12 March 2016 Arrival to Tenerife We will collect you from the airport at approx. 2pm and transport you to the beach area Playa de las Americas. After checking into the hotel we will go over the bikes and get them ready for tomorrow s first training session. Following dinner we will provide a presentation of the week's program including a technical review of the training methods to be employed. Meals: Dinner provided DAY 2 Sunday 13 March 2016 Warm Up Training Ride / VO 2 Max. Test AM Training: You will start your day with a 2:30hr warm-up ride focusing on general pedalling technique. PM Testing: VO 2 Max & Power Testing. Evening Review: Individual reviews of test results. DAY 3 Monday 14 March 2016 Gran Fondo Climbing Training AM Training: We will run you through a short briefing about the relevance of today s training session. The ride will then include a 3:30-4hr session concentrating on power and stamina for Gran Fondo climbing. PM Session: You will be introduced to some relaxation/stretching methods and massage. Evening Tutorial: After dinner we will facilitate a tutorial session aimed at sharing personal experiences focusing on nutrition for racing and training. 4 DAY 4 Tuesday 15 March 2016 Interval Training Methods AM Training: We will begin with a short briefing on the concepts of cycling based interval training. Your 3:30-4hr ride will incorporate interval training sets which are specifically geared towards Gran Fondo climbing. PM Session: Relaxation and massage topics with an optional session on ideal riding posture and cleat position. Evening Debrief: Time for one-on-one sessions with all guests. DAY 5 Wednesday 16 March 2016 Riding Technique & Double Pace Line Practise AM Training: This morning is focused on a 3hr active recovery ride on gentle terrain after yesterday s high intensity interval training ride. Your ex professional guides will also be available to fine-tune your riding techniques and teach you how to ride safely in a double pace-line. PM Session: Relaxation/stretching and massage will be available. There will also be the chance to review any small changes made to your riding position from the previous day. Evening Tutorial: Our ex pro guides will facilitate a tutorial session aimed at sharing recovery tips, exercises aimed at injury prevention, stretching and general cycling drills to improve your performance. DAY 6 Thursday 17 March 2016 AM Training: A short briefing followed by a 3:30-4hr training ride focused on climbing progression and VO 2 Max related concepts. The objective of this ride is to prepare you for challenging Gran Fondo ascents. PM Session: Relaxation, stretching and massage is available. Evening: Free time. 5 DAY 7 Friday 18 March 2016 Recovery Ride & Review of Cycling Concepts AM Training: Today you will be back on the bikes to focus on general conditioning and how to identify a range of cycling sensations. This will be a back to basics session where listening to your body outweighs any bike sensors or gadgets. Evening Review: We will provide you with a review of the key concepts and objectives from the training camp. There will also be plenty of time for a Q&A session before some celebratory drinks! DAY 8 Saturday 19 March 2016 End of Services - Departure from Tenerife Following breakfast we can organise an airport transfer. If you would like to stay on in Tenerife though you are free to continue your own travels. We look forward to following your progress post camp and cycling again with you soon!
