1 DOCUMENT SCOPE OF WORK Telecommunications and Data 1. GENERAL: 1. The following scope of work is intended to be general in nature. The purpose of this summary of work is not to identify or list every scope of work item already shown on the Contract Documents and described in the specifications. The purpose is to coordinate, clarify, modify, and/or expand the scope of the work as shown and described. The intention is to have the successful Subcontractor perform all the related work shown on the Contract Documents other than those items specifically indicated below to be excluded. Attention is called to the Instruction to Bidders, General Conditions, Special Conditions and the Site Specific Safety Program for additional information. The Summary of Work takes precedence over the drawings and specifications in the event of a conflict in trade assignment or responsibility. The base work of this Subcontract includes the listed scope of work plus allowances. The requirements herein shall not be limited to the scope of work shown on the drawings and described in the specifications. The Bidder shall include all costs necessary to provide all work to meet the supplemental requirements of this scope of work. 2. DOCUMENTS: 1. General Contract between Turner and the Owner dated February 25, 2014 including all attachments. 2. Plans and Specifications prepared by Schooley Caldwell Associates as shown in the Documents List, the Project Phasing Plan, Project Schedule, Project Logistics Plan and the Preliminary Project SWPPP. 3. The Bid Manual prepared by Turner Construction dated 2/xx/ This specific scope of work for the Columbus Public Library (CML) Main Library. References in this scope of work are specific to the CML Main Library. 5. The following specification sections are listed as the responsibility of the Subcontractor in defining its area of work on this project: Div. 00 Procurement and Contracting Requirements Div. 01 General Requirements Basic Communication Requirements Agreement and Waiver for use of Electronic Documents a Heapy Engineering Release Form Basic Communication Materials and Methods Firestopping Grounding and Bonding for Communication Systems Communication Pathways and Support Equipment Communication Copper Backbone Cabling Communication Optical Fiber Backbone Cabling Communication Copper Horizontal Cabling 6. The Subcontractor is also responsible for trade specifications not specifically listed above but required by reference in the listed specifications or as required to perform the scope of work described herein, as well as the Bidding Requirements, Contracting Requirements, and the use of the Construction Documents as a whole. 7. This is a phased project. Reference the Project Phase Plan to identify sequence, schedule and limits of work for each phase. It will be necessary to coordinate the work of this contract including multiple mobilizations with the Project Phase Plan and Project Logistics Plan. Costs associated with this plan are to be included in the base bid.

SCOPE OF WORK SPECIFICALLY INCLUDES: Columbus Metropolitan Library This Subcontractor shall provide all necessary supervision, engineering, coordination, submittals, quality control, freight, labor, labor premium and overtime, materials, accessories, tools and equipment necessary to perform the Telecommunications and Data work and all related work as shown or inferable from the Contract Documents. The following items are not intended to be an all-inclusive listing of the work required, but shall merely highlight and/or clarify specific items of this scope. The work shall include, but not be limited to, the following items: A. General & Miscellaneous 1. The owner will maintain security for the library, but not special watchmen for trade contractors property or operations or work. All trade contractors shall be solely responsible for any loss or damage to their property prior to installation. 2. The GR subcontractor will provide an onsite project material handler for use by all subcontractors. The purpose is of the project material handler is to provide an efficient means to manage materials and deliveries as the site will not accommodate multiple pieces of material handling equipment. Use of the material handler is at risk. Any damage to this subcontractors materials inadvertently caused by use of the project material handler is the responsibility of this subcontractor. 3. The electrical subcontractor will provide temporary electric power during construction for safety lighting and small tools. Each trade contractor shall provide, at their own expense, any other power or lighting required to complete their work. 4. The HVAC subcontractor will provide temporary cooling, heating and ventilation for the general work areas. This excludes specific cooling needs in the TR s and MER as may be necessary for the operation of telecommunications equipment prior to the permanent systems coming on line. Such temporary cooling is the responsibility of this subcontractor. B. Division 27 Telecommunications 1. Attention is called to the General Notes on Drawing Sheet T0.01. Note that the conduit pathways, pull boxes, raceways, cable trays, and outlet boxes are the responsibility of the Electrical subcontractor. This subcontractor will be responsible for interduct, cable management systems, rack systems and associated support systems, as well as co-oordination with the Electrical contractor for the requirements of this scope. 2. The scope of work for the project includes the relocation of the TR s and MER. It is this subcontractor s responsibility to research existing systems and develop a written plan to maintain communication systems and provide for the efficient transfer of those systems to the permanent TR s and MER as construction progresses. The plan must identify and include temporary communications cabling including any necessary fiber optic cabling designed to maintain telecommunications and data systems in the occupied areas of the building during construction per the project phase plans. This plan must also be coordinated with the requirements of specification section item The scope of work for the Selective Demolition Subcontractor specifically excludes the removal of any telecommunications equipment or cabling. This Telecommunications Subcontractor is to terminate all telecommunications cabling at the TR/MER and remove all cabling and telecommunications equipment. After the cabling and equipment have been removed by this subcontractor, the Selective Demolition Subcontractor will remove existing conduit pathways. 4. The existing Sprint communications system in the building is to be salvaged, packaged, crated and delivered to the Owner by this subcontractor. 5. Provide all scheduled new installations of telecommunications work as shown on the SCA 2/9/15 T drawings and related specifications for the CML Main Library.
3 6. Submits shop drawings of all New TR s and MER rooms with equipment dimensions and work space requirements shown. Include full descriptions of all necessary power requirements and locations for coordination with the Electrical Subcontractor. 7. Provide interim testing and commissioning of all systems that will serve the phase 2 occupied spaces. 4. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: 1. The below topics and other special instructions appear in more detail in the Special Conditions document. The below is intended only to call special attention to these topics and is not intended to replace information found in Special Conditions. 1. Retainage Conditions shall be in accordance with section of the General Conditions and per the Ohio Revised Code Sections ,.13, and Cost-Loaded Schedule: Provide cost information associated with each schedule line item within this scope of work. Additionally, provide updated cost-loaded schedule information with each monthly application for payment. See the Special Conditions for more information. 3. OSHA 30 Hour Certification: Reference the document Safety Program for additional information. An OSHA 30 hour certified person must be on site 100% of the time. The OSHA 30hr certification must be within the past three years of the award of the subcontract. 4. Required Paperwork: Reference the document Safety Program for additional information. Various paperwork is required ranging from daily (ex: STAs and DCRs) to situational (ex: JHAs and other checklists). It is this Subcontractor s sole responsibility to complete all paperwork accurately and by the time required. 5. Ladders Last Policy: Reference the document Safety Program for additional information. Turner s Ladders Last Policy will be a requirement of the project. Subcontractor will be required to utilize other, safer means of accessing elevated work, and shall utilize ladders only as a last resort. 6. Lean Construction: Reference the Special Conditions for additional information, but particular attention shall be paid to the Nothing Hits the Floor requirements. 7. Builders Risk Insurance: The owner will carry Builder s Risk insurance and the Subcontractor will be covered as noted in the contract Turner has with the Owner. Reference Article 11 of the agreement. Deductible to be covered by the Subcontractor as noted in Article Pollution Liability Insurance: This Subcontractor is responsible to carry Pollution Liability Insurance policy covering $5,000,000 per occurrence and $10,000,000 aggregate. 5. THE SCOPE OF WORK SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDES: 1. Power requirements for telecommunications equipment in the TR s and MER. 2. Conduit pathways, pull boxes, raceways, cable trays, and outlet boxes. 3. Hazardous material abatement, except following OSHA protocol for notification and material handling. 6. ALTERNATES: 1. The following Alternate(s) may be accepted by Turner Construction Company, at its sole discretion, and incorporated herein as part of the Scope of Work for the respective price. Inasmuch as these Alternates were anticipated from the inception of the project and were priced accordingly, all overhead, profit and escalation has been included within the lump sum amount and the price shall remain firm throughout the duration of the project, unless specifically noted herein.

ALLOWANCES: 1. The Contract Sum shall be the addition of a base bid amount plus allowances. The value of the allowance shall be determined by multiplying the allowance quantity times a unit price. The unit price quoted on the Form of Proposal will be used to adjust the allowance and contract value up or down based on the authorized net actual quantity. The Subcontractor s cost for all overhead and profit shall be included in the base bid amount and not in the allowance portion of the Contract Sum. There will be no modifications to the unit price for overhead and profit for adjustments to the allowance quantity, up or down. It is expressly understood and agreed that all additional work will be completed within the original schedule. The Subcontractor shall be responsible to bring additional equipment to the project as necessary to meet the original schedule. The unit cost shall include all labor, material and equipment costs associated with overtime, second shift work, weekend work, etc. as required to maintain the original schedule. Number Description: Unit: $/Unit: 1 Labor 400 Hrs. 2 Materials $10, UNIT PRICES: 1. The following Unit Prices may be used by Turner Construction Company to calculate the value of changes in scope and/or to adjust allowances. Inasmuch as these Unit Prices were anticipated from the inception of the project and were priced accordingly, all overhead, profit and escalation has been included within the lump sum amount and the price shall remain firm throughout the duration of the project, unless specifically noted herein. Number Description: Unit: $/Unit: 1 9. LABOR RATES & EQUIPMENT RATES: 1. The following Labor Rates & Equipment Rates may be used by Turner Construction Company to calculate the value of changes in scope and/or to adjust allowances. Inasmuch as these Labor or Equipment Rates were anticipated from the inception of the project and were priced accordingly, all escalation has been included within the rate and the rate shall remain firm throughout the duration of the project, unless specifically noted herein. The labor rates include all wages, fringes,
5 taxes, and insurance. Overhead and profit will be added to the labor components of any changes according to the formula for changes. 2. See separate labor rate matrix Wage Rates Form; Subcontractor should plan to have the labor rates form completed by the scope review meeting (after bids are received and before the contract is awarded). 3. Subcontractor will need to provide an equipment rates sheet on subcontractor s own form to be completed by the scope review meeting (after bids are received and before the contract is awarded). 10. PAYMENT AND PERFORMANCE BOND: 1. If a Payment and Performance Bond is required by this contract, Subcontractor and its surety hereby agree to execute and deliver to Turner in connection with the issuance of Change Orders under this contract, Rider A amendments increasing the amount (penal sum) of the performance and payment bonds when Subcontractor is requested by Turner to do so. The reasonable premiums or other charges paid by Subcontractor for the procurement of the Rider A amendment requested by Turner will be paid as a part of the Change Order. 2. Not required. 11. SCHEDULE 1. The Project Schedule is included in this bid package as a means of conveying timelines of major activities and milestone dates. Through submission of a bid, this Subcontractor acknowledges and accepts the Project Schedule as included in this bid package, and assumes responsibility for accomplishing the work within the time frames required per the Project Schedule. 2. The Project Construction Start is. The Project Completion Date is June 1, The Project Schedule will be issued by Addendum. 3. Refer to Article III of the Supplemental Terms & Conditions, Planning & Scheduling, for participation and cooperation required of this contractor in development and adjustment of the co-ordinated project schedule. END
