1 CNWL Sexual Health Consultation Introduction Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) is considering future options for locating the sexual health services currently provided at these large centres: rchway Centre (Islington) Margaret Pyke Centre (Camden) Mortimer Market Centre (Camden). lternative options have been evaluated, taking into consideration: sustainability for the future; accessibility to patients; and detailed clinical analysis (undertaken with senior clinical representatives from all the specialties affected). Option 1: Continue to provide services from all three sites, while reducing the level of service at each (e.g. reduce opening hours or number of appointments). Option 2: Reduce the number of large centres from three to two, sharing the services the other two centres, which would enable a similar level of service as now from those two sites (extending opening hours and number of appointments). Our analysis shows that the only viable configuration to achieve Option 2 would be to stop providing these services from the Margaret Pyke Centre, and relocate the services currently provided from there to the other two centres. The additional aspects of the Margaret Pyke Centre, such as training, research and referral support will remain in place. This option will ensure that staff and current patients are involved to design the best configuration of services. Now we are seeking your views on these options.
2 Q1. Option 1: Continue to provide services from all three sites, while reducing the level of service at each (e.g. reduce opening hours or number of appointments, potentially halving the number of appointments at the Margaret Pyke Centre). I strongly support this option I am neutral to this option I strongly disagree with this option I tend to support this option I tend to disagree with this option I don t know Q2. Why do you say that about continuing to provide services from all three sites? (Please explain your view) Q3. Option 2: To reprovide services from the Margaret Pyke Centre, and relocate the services currently provided from there to the other two centres (extending opening hours and maintaining the number of appointments). I strongly support this option I am neutral to this option I strongly disagree with this option I tend to support this option I tend to disagree with this option I don t know Q4. Why do you say that about relocating services from the Margaret Pyke Centre? (Please explain your view) Q5. Do you have any other comments that you would like to make? (Please specify)
3 We would like to understand more about your preferences In this section, please indicate your preference statements and on the scale indicated Q6. Statement Statement I would prefer all three large clinics to remain open, even if this means fewer appointments and reduced opening hours I would prefer fewer longer opening hours and no reduction in appointments, even if that means one of the large clinics closes statements and Q7. Statement I would only use a service during office hours (e.g. 9am-5pm) Statement I would like the option of early morning (e.g. 8 a.m.), late (e.g. 7 p.m.) and weekend appointments statements and Q8. Statement Knowing there are members of the opposite sex in the waiting room would make me unlikely to use a clinic Statement Knowing there are members of the opposite sex in the waiting room would make no difference to whether I use a clinic statements and
4 Q9. Statement If services moved from this clinic I would be less likely to access similar services anywhere else Statement If services moved I would travel to another clinic that offered the same services, assuming it has good transport links, similar car parking etc. statements and Q10. Statement I would be happy to use sexual health services based in ordinary health centres, alongside other services, but staffed by the specialist sexual health doctors and nurses from this clinic Statement I would only want to access sexual health services at one of the larger, dedicated sexual health clinics statements and Q11. Statement I prefer to have an appointment at a specific time Statement I prefer to be able to walk in to the clinic, without an appointment, even if this means waiting for a couple of hours statements and
