2 Program Information Fall Class Session: October 5th to December 17th Program Schedule: Classes run from 3:15-4:15 pm, with a snack provided from 2:55-3:10 pm in the cafeteria. Each class will meet between 8-12 times over the course of the trimester, depending on the day of the week. There are no after school classes on holiday/no school days/early dismissal days. These No Class days are figured into the price of each class. Registration and Payments: Contact Garfield Community Center at for registration. If you have never participated in a Parks and Recreation sponsored program, signing up at Garfield Community Center (2323 E Cherry) would be ideal as they have to create an account for your family. Once that is established, you may call the Community Center, stop by, or pay on-line through SPARC https:// class.seattle.gov/parks). Remember: All students need to have submitted registration forms [ Participant Information and Authorization E-13 ] prior to participating in any of the after school enrichment classes. Without completed registration forms, your child will not be able to participate in classes. Scholarship: To apply for a scholarship, complete and return a scholarship application to Garfield Community Center. Applications can be found at Garfield CCor any of the Seattle community centers or can be downloaded at scholarship_application.pdf. We possibly will award one scholarship per student per trimester that applies to after school programs. A minimum payment of 20% of the class fee is required should a scholarship be awarded. Refund Policy: It is the policy of Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Associated Recreation Council that: * Anyone who registers for a class, special event, or program that is cancelled for any reason will receive a full refund. *Anyone who registers for a class, special event, or program and who requests a refund 14 days or more prior to the program start date may receive a refund minus a service charge of $5 or 10% of the fee, whichever is greater. *Anyone who registers for a class, special event, or program and who withdraws from the activity less than 14 days before its start date will not receive a refund. OH NO! My class got cancelled! Most classes require a minimum of 4-6 participants in order to be financially sustainable. We do our best to avoid canceling classes. However, classes that do not meet minimum enrollment requirement are cancelled prior to their start date. We do prorate class fees to reflect late registration for classes that meet minimum enrollment requirement prior to their start dates. PLEASE REGISTER EARLY! Snack & Clothing: The After School Enrichment Program will provide a snack for each student. Please send your children with clothing appropriate for their classes. For classes that are outside, this may include rain gear. Behavior: At Leschi, we have the expectation of respect for teachers/ instructors and good behavior during classes. Students are expected to maintain the same behavioral standards that they would during the formal school day. If an instructor determines this is not the case the following steps will be taken: At the first incident, the instructor will call parents /guardians regarding student behavior and the student will be given one trial class to improve. If the disruptive behavior continues, the student will be removed from class. The program is unable to issue a refund if the student is removed from a class due to a behavioral issue. Please discuss enrollment with your child to be sure they want to attend an after school class. Picking up Your Child: Your child must be picked up on time. Our program does not provide childcare after class is over at 4:15 pm and the playground is not supervised at that time. If your child is picked up late you will be charged $1/minute for every minute past 4:20pm that you are late. Please call the program administrator at if you are going to be late. Your student can only be picked up by people listed on the enrollment (E-13) form, so be sure to list everyone who could pick up your child/ren. Students must be signed out. The pick-up location will be centralized in the lunch room. Absences/Changes: Please contact the program administrator at as soon as possible if your child will not be attending the afterschool program for any reason. Questions/Concerns: Once a class has begun, m, please contact the program administrator, Antonio Morton, directly at (206) or The program administrator will be onsite and available during program hours all quarter.
