Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 SK 0060 B 98 The device has four channels which can be assigned parameters as inputs or outputs by selecting the application with the ETS2 program. Conventional push buttons, floating contacts or light-emitting diodes can be connected using the colour-coded connecting cables. The contact scanning voltage for the contacts and the supply voltage for the LEDs are made available by the device. Series resistors for external LEDs are integrated in the device. The universal interface is inserted in a conventional flush-type box with a diameter of 60 mm. The bus connection is carried out via the bus connecting terminal supplied. Technical Data Power supply EIB 2 VDC, via the bus line Inputs/outputs Number, can be parameterised as inputs or outputs (depending on the application) Permitted cable length 10 m Input Scanning voltage 20 VDC Input current 0.5 Output Power supply 5 VDC Output current max. 2 ma, limited via a series resistor Safety short-circuit proof, overload protection, reverse voltage protection Operating and display elements Red LED and push button for assigning the physical address Connections Inputs/outputs 10 cables approx. 30 cm long can be extended to max. 10 m EIB Bus connecting terminal included with supply Type of protection IP 20, EN when inserted Protection class III Ambient temperature range Operation - 5 C 5 C Storage - 25 C 55 C Transport - 25 C 70 C Dimensions 5 x 20 mm (ø x H) Weight 0.05 kg Certification CE norm EIB-certified in accordance with the EMC guideline and the low voltage guideline Page 1 of 20 USU_1_TD_EN_V1-1 2CDC D0201

Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 /1 The application program is specifically for use with push buttons. Each input has a communication object that can send switching telegrams. The parameter Contact type applies equally to the inputs and indicates whether normally open or normally closed contacts have been connected. The parameter Debounce time determines how long a contact must be operated in order for the device to accept the push button action as valid. Using the parameter Reaction on signal at input..., it can be determined for each input whether it switches on or off alternately each time the contact is operated or whether the device distinguishes between a long and a short push button action in order to be able to switch on or off selectively. In this case it must be indicated in the parameter Input signal is interpreted as long from how long the push button must be operated in order for the device to send the appropriate telegram. So that the bus is not put under load with too many unnecessary telegrams, it is possible to limit the number of telegrams that the devices can send in 17 s. 0 1 bit Input A Telegr. switch 1 1 bit Input B Telegr. switch 2 1 bit Input C Telegr. switch 3 1 bit Input D Telegr. switch Common for all inputs: Contact type normally open contact normally closed contact Debounce time 10 ms / 30 ms / 50 ms / 100 ms Limit number of telegrams yes no Max. number of telegrams in 17 s 30 / 60 / 100 / 127 Separate for each input: Reaction on signal at input short ON, long OFF short OFF, long ON TOGGLE Input signal interpreted as long 0. s / 0.5 s / 0.6 s / 0.8 s / 1 s / from 1.2 s / 1.5 s / 2 s Page 3 of 20 USU_1_TD_EN_V1-1 2CDC D0201

Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 Dim /1 The application program is specifically for use with push buttons. Inputs A and B or C and D are combined and linked with a serial push button. The parameter Contact type applies equally to all the inputs and indicates whether normally open or normally closed contacts have been connected. In the default setting switch/dimming sensor..., the binary input sends a switching telegram after a short operation. With the setting switch (ON/OFF/ TOGGLE), the binary input does not distinguish between a short or long push button action. The parameter Reaction on short signal determines whether for the two pairs of channels, one input is used for switching on and one for switching off or whether they both always toggle. Dim If a push button is pressed for longer than the period set in the parameter Input signal interpreted as long from, the binary input dims by the value indicated in the parameter Change brightness if long signal by. A Stop dimming telegram is sent when the push button is released. If the function switch/dimming sensor (dimming steps) is activated, the dimming telegram is repeated at the set interval for the duration of the push button action. The parameter Debounce time determines how long a contact must be operated in order for the device to accept the push button action as valid. So that the bus is not put under load with too many unnecessary telegrams, it is possible to limit the number of telegrams that the devices can send in 17 s. for switch/dimming sensor function 0 1 bit Input A/B Telegr. switch 1 bit Input A/B Telegr. relative dimming 2 1 bit Input C/D Telegr. switch 3 bit Input C/D Telegr. relative dimming for switch sensor function 0 1 bit Input A/B Telegr. switch 2 1 bit Input C/D Telegr. switch Common for all inputs: Contact type normally open contact normally closed contact Input signal interpreted as long 0. s / 0.5 s / 0.6 s / 0.8 s / 1 s / from 1.2 s / 1.5 s / 2 s For cyclical sending telegram is 0. s / 0.5 s / 0.6 s / 0.8 s / 1 s / repeated every 1.2 s / 1.5 s / 2 s Debounce time 10 ms / 30 ms / 50 ms / 100 ms Limit number of telegrams yes / no Max. number of telegrams in 17 s 30 / 60 / 100 / 127 Separate for inputs A/B and C/D: Function Reaction on short signal switch/dimming sensor (stop telegr.) switch/dimming sensor (dimming steps) switch sensor A = ON, B = OFF A = OFF, B = ON A = TOGGLE, B = TOGGLE Reaction on long signal A= brighter, B = darker Change brightness if long signal by 100 % / 50 % / 25 % / / 1.56 % Page of 20 USU_1_TD_EN_V1-1 2CDC D0201

Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 Shutter /7 The application program is specifically for use with push buttons. Inputs A and B or C and D are linked with a shutter switch or a serial push button. The parameter Contact type applies equally to all the inputs and indicates whether normally open or normally closed contacts have been connected. Both pairs of inputs can be assigned the function of shutter sensor or switch sensor. In the parameter setting switch sensor, the binary input has a separate communication object for each push button. For inputs that are assigned the function of switch sensor, their normal function after each push button action is to toggle. If required the user can also determine the reaction to short or long push button operations for either one or both push buttons of the pair of inputs. Shutter In the setting shutter sensor, the binary input sends an Adjust lamella/ stop telegram when the push button is pressed for a short period and a Move shutter up/down telegram when it is pressed for a long period. It is also possible to designate which push button is used for UP or DOWN. It is also necessary to set the parameter Input signal interpreted as long from for both shutter control and switching with short and long push button actions. The parameter Debounce time determines how long a contact must be operated in order for the device to accept the push button action as valid. So that the bus is not put under load with too many unnecessary telegrams, it is possible to limit the number of telegrams that the devices can send in 17 s. for shutter sensor function 0 1 bit Input A/B Telegr. lamella adj./stop 1 1 bit Input A/B Telegr. move shutter Up-Down 2 1 bit Input C/D Telegr. lamella adj./stop 3 1 bit Input C/D Telegr. move shutter Up-Down for switch sensor function 0 1 bit Input A Telegr. switch 1 1 bit Input B Telegr. switch 2 1 bit Input C Telegr. switch 3 1 bit Input D Telegr. switch Page 5 of 20 USU_1_TD_EN_V1-1 2CDC D0201

Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 Shutter /1 The application program is specifically for use with push buttons. Inputs A and B or C and D are combined and each connected to a shutter switch. The parameter Contact type applies equally to all the inputs and indicates whether normally open or normally closed contacts have been connected. In the parameter setting switch sensor, the binary input does not distinguish between a long or short push button action and sends On or Off telegrams to the EIB when one of the rocker switches is pressed. Shutter In the setting shutter sensor, the binary input sends an Adjust lamella/ stop telegram when the push button is pressed for a short period and a Move shutter up/down telegram when it is pressed for a long period. It is also possible to designate which push button is used for UP or DOWN. 8 Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 Edge Cyclic /1 Cyclic The application program is specifically for use with switches or push buttons. Each of the four channels has a communication object available that can send switching telegrams. Edge Using the parameters Reaction on pulse edge, it is possible to set the value of the communication object for each input according to a rising and/or falling signal edge. Using the parameter Sending conditions for cyclic sending, it is possible to indicate, dependent on the value of the communication object, whether an input repeats the telegrams cyclically. The time for cyclic sending is then set via the two parameters of Time base and Factor. The parameter Debounce time determines how long a contact must be operated in order for the device to accept the push button action as valid. When an input actually sends a telegram is dependent on the value indicated in the parameter Sending conditions on change of input / on bus voltage recovery. When bus voltage recovery occurs, the general parameter Sending behaviour at bus voltage recovery is also taken into consideration. So that the bus is not put under load with too many unnecessary telegrams, it is possible to limit the number of telegrams that the devices can send in 17 s. 0 1 bit Input A Telegr. switch 1 1 bit Input B Telegr. switch 2 1 bit Input C Telegr. switch 3 1 bit Input D Telegr. switch Common for all inputs: Debounce time 10 ms / 30 ms / 50 ms / 100 ms Sending behaviour at bus check input status, send telegr. voltage recovery no reaction Limit number of telegrams yes / no Max. number of telegrams in 17 s 30 / 60 / 100 / 127 Separate for each input: Reaction on pulse edge rising: ON, falling: OFF rising: OFF, falling: ON rising: ON no telegram Sending conditions on change send if contact is closed of input / on bus voltage recovery send if contact is opened send if contact is opened or closed do not send Sending conditions for no cyclical sending cyclic sending only if object value = ON only if object value = OFF always Time base for cyclical sending 130 ms / / 1 s / / 1.2 h Factor for cyclical sending 127 (5 127) Page 8 of 20 USU_1_TD_EN_V1-1 2CDC D0201

Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 Dim Shutter /1 The application program is specifically for use with push buttons. Inputs A and B or C and D are linked together. The pair of inputs A/B can be used for switching and/or dimming a group of luminaires. The pair of inputs C/D can either be used for switching or shutter control. Depending on their function, the inputs are connected to either a serial push button or a shutter switch. The parameter Contact type applies equally to all the inputs and indicates whether normally open or normally closed contacts are connected. Dim If a push button is pressed for longer than the period set in the parameter Input signal interpreted as long from, the binary input dims by the value indicated in the parameter Change brightness if long signal by. A Stop dimming telegram is sent when the push button is released. If the function switch/dimming (dimming steps) is activated, the dimming telegram is repeated at the set interval for the duration of the push button action. Shutter The parameter Debounce time determines how long a contact must be operated in order for the device to accept the push button action as valid. In the default setting switch/dimming sensor for the pair of inputs A/B, the binary input sends a switching telegram when the push button is pressed for a short period. In the setting switch sensor, the binary input does not distinguish between a short or long push button action. The parameter Reaction on short signal determines whether for the two pairs of channels, one push button is used for switching on and one for switching off or whether they both always toggle. In the default setting shutter sensor for the pair of inputs C/D, the binary inputs sends an Adjust lamella/stop telegram when the push button is pressed for a short period and a Move shutter up/down telegram when it is pressed for a long period. It is also possible to designate which push button is used for UP or DOWN. The pair of inputs C/D can also be assigned parameters for the function of switch sensor. As with the pair of inputs A/B, the binary input does not distinguish betwen a long or short push button action. If required, the push button can switch on and the other can switch off or both push buttons can toggle. So that the bus is not put under load with too many unnecessary telegrams, it is possible to limit the number of telegrams that the devices can send in 17 s. for switch/dimming sensor or shutter sensor function 0 1 bit Input A/B Telegr. switch 1 bit Input A/B Telegr. relative dimming 2 1 bit Input C/D Telegr. lamella adj./stop 3 1 bit Input C/D Telegr. move shutter Up-Down for switch sensor function 0 1 bit Input A/B Telegr. switch 2 1 bit Input C/D Telegr. switch Page 9 of 20 USU_1_TD_EN_V1-1 2CDC D0201

Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 Dim Shutter /5 The application program is specifically for use with push buttons. Inputs A and B or C and D are linked together. The pair of inputs A/B can be used for switching and/or dimming a group of luminaires. The pair of inputs C/D can either be used for switching or shutter control. The parameter Contact type applies equally to all the inputs and indicates whether normally open or normally closed contacts have been connected. The parameter Debounce time determines how long a contact must be operated in order for the device to accept the push button action as valid. With the parameter Reaction on short/ long signal, the user can determine the switching as well as the dimming function. Normally the binary input switches on when the push button on input A is pressed for a short time and switches off when the push button on input B is pressed. Alternatively, the binary input can toggle both times. Dim If a push button is pressed for longer than the period set in the parameter Input signal interpreted as long from, the binary input dims by the value indicated in the parameter Change bright- ness if long signal by. A Stop dimming telegram is sent when the push button is released. It is also possible to designate which push button is used for UP or DOWN. The pair of inputs C/D can also be assigned parameters for the function of switch sensor. There is then a separate communication object for each push button. The normal function for both inputs is to toggle at each push button action. If required, the user can also set the reaction for one or both push buttons to short or long push button actions. 13 Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 Shutter Disable/1 Inputs A and B are linked to form a pair of inputs A/B which is used for shutter control. Inputs C and D can be used independently for switching. The parameter Debounce time determines how long a contact must be operated in order for the device to accept the push button action as valid. Inputs C and D each have the same communication objects and parameters available. They can be connected to push buttons or switches. The parameters Reaction on rising pulse edge and Reaction on falling pulse edge can be set depending on the selected contact and the function required. Disable The two inputs C and D can be individually disabled via the communication objects Input... Disable. It is possible to predefine the values of the disable objects on bus voltage recovery in order to achieve a defined function after a bus voltage failure. Shutter The pair of inputs A/B is linked with a conventional shutter switch. The parameter Contact type determines whether normally open or normally closed contacts are used. The pair of inputs A/B sends Move shutter up/down telegrams after a short push button action and Adjust lamella/stop telegrams after a long push button action. The telegrams for lamella adjustment are repeated cyclically at an adjustable interval. The input normally detects a long switch operation after about a second and repeats the telegrams about half a second later. So that the bus is not put under load with too many unnecessary telegrams, it is possible to limit the number of telegrams that the devices can send in 17 s. 0 1 bit Input A/B Telegr. move shutter Up-Down 1 1 bit Input A/B Telegr. lamella adj./stop 2 1 bit Input C Telegr. switch 3 1 bit Input D Telegr. switch 1 bit Input telegr. 15 Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 Dim /10 The application program is specifically for use with push buttons. It makes it possible to switch and dim four groups of luminaires independently of each other. After each short push button action, the 1 bit object of the input sends On or Off telegrams alternately. The parameter Debounce time determines how long a contact must be operated in order for the device to accept the push button action as valid. So that the bus is not put under load with too many unnecessary telegrams, it is possible to limit the number of telegrams that the devices can send in 17 s. Inputs A to D each have a 1 bit communication object for switching and a bit communication object for dimming. They have the same parameters available. Dim If a push button is pressed for longer than the period set in the parameter Input signal interpreted as long from, the binary input dims by the value indicated in the parameter Change brightness if long signal by. A Stop dimming telegram is sent when the push button is released. After another long push button action, the dimming direction is reversed. If the function switch/dimming sensor (dimming steps) is activated, the dimming telegram is repeated at the set interval for the duration of the push button action. In this case, the communication object does not send a Stop dimming telegram when the push button is released. for switch/dimming sensor function 0 1 bit Input A Telegr. switch 1 1 bit Input B Telegr. switch 2 1 bit Input C Telegr. switch 3 1 bit Input D Telegr. switch bit Input A Telegr. relative dimming 5 bit Input B Telegr. relative dimming 6 bit Input C Telegr. relative dimming 7 bit Input D Telegr. relative dimming Page 15 of 20 USU_1_TD_EN_V1-1 2CDC D0201

Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 Edge Default /2 The application program makes it possible to scan two contacts and control two LEDs. The parameter Debounce time determines how long a contact must be operated in order for the device to accept the push button action as valid. So that the bus is not put under load with too many unnecessary telegrams, it is possible to limit the number of telegrams that the devices can send in 17 s. Edge Inputs A and B have a 1 bit communication object each for switching. It is possible to define the reaction on a rising and falling signal edge at the input depending on the connection with switch or push button contacts. The two outputs C and D are used for switching the LEDs. They each have a 1 bit communication object and the same parameters available. In the default setting, the LEDs are switched on with the object value 1 and switched off with the value 0. This reaction can be inverted with the parameter ing of LED output. Default The LEDs are switched off in the event of a bus voltage failure. Via the parameter Default position..., it is possible to set whether they recover their status prior to the bus voltage failure or they can be defined as switching on or off. 0 1 bit Input A Telegr. switch 1 1 bit Input B Telegr. switch 2 1 bit Output C Display 3 1 bit Output D Display Page 17 of 20 USU_1_TD_EN_V1-1 2CDC D0201

Universal Interface, -fold, FM, GH Q R0111 Flash /1 The application program makes it possible to control four LEDs. The four outputs each have one or two communication objects and the same parameters available. The LEDs are switched via the communication objects Display. In the default setting, the LEDs are switched on with the object value 1 and switched off with the value 0. This reaction can be inverted with the parameter ing of LED output. The LEDs are switched off in the event of a bus voltage failure. Via the parameter Default position..., it is possible to set whether they recover their status prior to the bus voltage failure or they can be defined as switching on or off. Flash If the parameter Flash is set to enabled, the ETS2 program displays a further 1 bit communication object for the output. If this object has the value 1, the LED flashes. The values ca. 0.5 Hz, ca. 1 Hz and ca. 2 Hz are available for setting the flashing frequency. The flashing function has a higher priority internally than the switching object. If both communication objects have the value 1, the LED flashes. If the object Flash is set to the value 0, the LED assumes the status that is determined by the object Display. It is also possible to set the status of the object Enable flashing on bus voltage recovery. 0 1 bit Output A Display 1 1 bit Output B Display 2 1 bit Output C Display 3 1 bit Output D Display bit Output A Enable flashing 5 bit Output B Enable flashing 6 bit Output C Enable flashing 7 bit Output D Enable flashing Page 19 of 20 USU_1_TD_EN_V1-1 2CDC D0201
