This page allows SCSU students, faculty and staff to manage their NetID credentials from one central location. Using your personal or cell phone, this self-service tool enables 24/7 access to reset your password and unlock your account, even if you forget your old password. Using SSPR will impact the following accounts: Wireless access Employee (Exchange) MySCSU Blackboard HootLoot Computer Labs OwlConnect (clubs and organizations) CONSULS Library catalog The following accounts are not impacted: Core-CT INB (faculty and staff) OU Campus (faculty and staff) OWLs Mail (students) Viewing your Profile The Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) provides you some important information about your password and the password expiration timeline. SSPR will tell you when your password will expire, when you last changed
2 your password and when you last recovered your password using the reset feature. Also, the Account Management page is where you update your SMS/text number and personal associated with the account. Sign in It is important to keep your profile up to date so that you can manage your password outside of the Help Desk business hours. To start the process, go to the SSPR webpage ( and sign in with your working username and password. Understanding the Account Management page The Account Management page has some different sections that are important to note. A. The general tab is displayed by default and gives you some insight into your password expiration timeline and personal address. The Multi-Factor Settings and Devices tab allows you to change your SMS/text number on file. B. The Account Details & Activity section tells you when your password is set to expire, when the last time you logged in to SSPR, when your last password change was, and when the last password reset was. In this section, you can start the process of changing your password by clicking on the Change now link. C. The Registered Address section shows you which personal address is associated with the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR), and shows you when your address was confirmed. Here, you can change the associated with your account by clicking on the Change my link.
3 Multi-Factor Settings & Devices If you ve registered a mobile phone with SSPR then you will see that information on the Multi-Factor Settings & Devices page. Here, you can remove an existing mobile phone or add a new one. Multiple mobile phones can be associated with your account. Logging out From the SSPR Account Management page, click the Log Out button located on the top right of the screen. Updating your profile It s important to keep your profile up to date. Doing so will ensure that you can reset your password anytime, anywhere. Changing your personal To change your personal associated with SSPR, click on the Change my link in the Registered Address section of the Account Management page. This will take you through the process of updating the personal address associated with the account.
4 The first step in changing your registered address is to define the new personal address in the appropriate box. You will receive an message at the specified account from with an One-Time Passcode (OTP). It is important that you retrieve the OTP promptly from your personal account because it will expire after a certain period of time. If you don t receive the OTP within a reasonable amount of time, then you should check your spam or junk mailbox. Once you have the OTP, enter the number in the available input box and click the Continue button at the bottom of the window. You will then be taken to a confirmation screen indicating that the Self-Service Action was successful. Click on the link at the bottom to conclude the registration process.
5 Adding or Changing your SMS/Text number If you would like the ability to reset your password using SMS/Text then you can add your cell phone number to your account. You should only explore this option if your phone has the capabilities to receive SMS/Text messages. From the Account Management page, click on the Multi-Factor Settings & Devices tab. On the next page, click on the Add new phone link at the bottom of the Registered Phones section. Enter your 10-digit phone number with no spaces or dashes, identify if your phone is able to receive text messages, select your Phone Provider from the dropdown and click on the Continue button. If you are unable to receive SMS/text messages or if your Phone Provider is not listed in the dropdown, then please select the Cancel button at the bottom of the window.
6 You will receive a text message from DONOTREPLY@southernct.edu with an OTP. It is important that you retrieve the OTP promptly from your cell phone as it will expire after a certain period of time. In the available box, enter the OTP you received and click the Continue button at the bottom of the window. You will then be taken to a confirmation screen indicating that the Phone Enrollment was successful. Help and Support Support for this service is provided by the Help Desk.
