1 Control vehicle movements on site of recycling activity Overview This unit is designed for the candidate to demonstrate competence in controlling vehicle movements on site of recycling activity and deal with any situations that may disrupt operations. The candidate must assist in the positioning of vehicles and ensure that any relevant documentation is completed in accordance with organisational procedures. The term recycling can refer to a variety of materials that are both recycled and treated including those in anaerobic digestion plants. EUSRA217 1

2 Performance criteria Identify health and safety risks and hazards in relation to the workplace P1 implement site-specific risk assessments for your area of work and review in accordance with organisational procedures P2 wear PPE identified in the risk assessment P3 carry out specified measures to control risks and hazards P4 identify procedures to deal with unfamiliar risks and hazards arising from non-routine work situations Control vehicle movement on site of recycling activity P5 check that vehicles are suitable for the loading or unloading conditions P6 direct and assist the vehicle driver to the appropriate loading or unloading area P7 make sure that drivers and crews comply with organisational procedures, practices and relevant legislation P8 use equipment and materials in accordance with organisational procedures and practices P9 maintain the safety of the workplace in accordance with organisational procedures and practices Use and communicate data and information P10 report, to an appropriate person, unsafe vehicles and hazardous situations P11 give health and safety information to others in accordance with organisational procedures and practices P12 keep accurate and up to date records on routine and non-routine matters, and ensure they are legible and complete Resolve problems which could affect the control of vehicles on site P13 deal with unsafe behaviour in accordance with your responsibilities and workplace procedures P14 resolve day-to-day problems within your area of responsibility P15 refer matters outside your responsibility to the designated people EUSRA217 2
