How To Help A Family In Need

1 We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give. Winston Churchill IBA of Silicon Valley is proud to again, sponsor the non-profit organization Families 4 Families in their attempt to make a small, but notable impact on families here in the Silicon Valley struggling to get by. Last year we made a measurable difference in the lives of four families and this year we are planning on assisting three. Our special November IBA meeting will be designed especially for this charity. IBA is sponsoring this free lunch and in return, all that we ask is that you attend and bring one of the items on the attached family profile list. Checks are also welcome as some items, such as rent, are greatly appreciated. (Please no used items) In addition to the free lunch, you will receive a raffle ticket for the drawings at our December Holiday Luncheon. We will provide wrapping paper and this luncheon will be designed to join together in the giving spirit to wrap presents together. We hope you will all join in. We will be receiving an update on the families after the gifts have been delivered. Thanks again for your generosity! 2 Family #16 This family s 4-year-old son was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the fall of He has received radiation and chemotherapy; however, the treatment has not been as successful as hoped. After numerous exhausting rounds of chemotherapy, he continues to have cancer cells in his spinal fluid. The mother stays at home with her three children (4 year old son and 2 daughters, 7 & 10 months) and the father is very hard working and has a full time job. Because of the extra expenses they have incurred with their son s cancer they are now in a financial bind. They would love help with mortgage, utilities, medical and dental as well as help making sure that the family has a nice Christmas. Their wish list (besides financial assistance for the above): Daughter 7 Pants 7 girls Shirt 7 girls Shoe 1 This little girl would love dress up clothes and Barbie items. She loves castles, princess things, mermaids (Ariel), and could use a warm jacket. Son - 4 Pants- 4 (boys not toddler) Shirt 4 boys Shoe 6 boys This little boy loves zoo animal sets and dreams of a Barney Animal Zoo Van. He also needs a warm jacket. Daughter 10 months Pants 1 T Shirt 1 T

3 Mom would love to have some teething toys, musical toys, hanging toys for car, toys that roll and a warm jacket for her baby. Mom 38 Pant 4 Shirt Small Shoe 7 Mom needs a diaper bag and a warm jacket. She would love a haircut at a nice hair salon or a spa massage. Dad 40 Pant 30/30 Shirt M Shoe 10 Dad would love to take the family out for a nice dinner at La Fondue. He also needs a warm jacket. Family #17 This loving couple s only child is receiving treatment at Lucille Packard for leukemia. His mother stays at home to care for him and his father works full time but makes very little money. They would appreciate help with rent, utilities and warm clothes for winter. Their wish list is: Son 3 Pant 5T Shirt 5T Shoe 8 ½ or 9 (boys) Having a tricycle and anything having to do with Mickey Mouse would brighten up this little boy s day. Mom 31 Pant 7 Shirt M Shoe 7 or 7 ½ Mom would love a warm jacket for winter (blue or beige)

4 Dad 35 Pant 36/34 Shirt L Shoe 8 ½ Dad would like a warm jacket or sweater for winter. Family #26: This mother s partner, since high school, died on of a brain tumor. She never left his side for the 18 months that he was confined to the hospital. Since his passing she has started to look for a new job but because of their situation, they have fallen very behind in their bills. They have a 5- year-old son and 4-year-old daughter and they both are devastated. They would like assistance with rent, utilities and gifts for the children to help them to have a brighter Christmas. In addition the two children are celebrating their birthdays (Nov. & Dec.) and have never had a birthday party. Mom is hoping to do a combined party for them and do something special, so any help with that would also be appreciated. Their wish list is as follows: Daughter 4 Pant 8 girls Shirt 10 girls Shoe 1 girls This little girl loves dolls, strollers/car seat for doll and would be ecstatic with a new bike or scooter. She also loves Care Bears so anything related with that would make her happy. Son - 5 Pant 7 boys Shirt 7 boys Shoe 12 ½ boys This little guy loves spider man. He too would be very happy with a new bike or scooter. He does have a Playstation 2 and would love some new games.

5 Mom 24 Pant 22 W or stretch pants 3X Shirt 3X Shoe 8 ½ Mom would love some comfortable, casual clothes, jeans, T-shirts and dress shirts for interviewing in.
