12 REMOTE CONTROL The intelli-charge remote is a sleek and modern controller that comes standard with the 25a, 35a, 50a and 8a 24V intelli-charge battery chargers. designed for ease of navigation, it allows the user to control and monitor the charger s performance remotely, allowing the charger to be mounted out of the way and out of sight. equipped with a fully functional control panel and lcd screen, the remote provides accurate and live readings at the touch of a button. The remote shares the same functions as found on the charger itself, detailed below: i NTelli- charge remote Volts/Amps: displays the battery voltage or charge current into the battery. a further feature of this function is its ability to provide voltage readings even when the charger is disconnected from 240V power. This particular function is ideal for monitoring battery status when the caravan, camper trailer or motor home etc, is running off battery power only. Charge Rate: Set the adjustable charge rate (current) to suit the battery size Battery Type: change and select the battery chemistry type Recondition: initiate manual recondition mode Mounting Options For ease of installation the remote has been engineered so it can be mounted in one of two ways, flush mounted or surface mounted. Flush mounting the remote provides an ultra sleek and low profile finish, requiring a simple cutout section from the mounting panel allowing the main depth of the remote to slot into. The Surface mount option on the other hand utilises a supplied spacer that the remote clicks into and enables installation directly onto the mounting surface with no cut-out required. The following images and dimension line drawings illustrate these two options: FLUSh MOUNT SURFACE MOUNT Mounting cut-out size: W: 86mm, H: 63mm, D: 16mm TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION PROBE Supplied as standard with each of the larger intelli-charge units (ic2500, ic3500, ic5000 & ic800-24) is a smart Temperature compensation Probe. The Probe which attaches directly to the positive post of the battery via a battery lug monitors and adjusts the output of the charger to suit changes in the battery temperature preventing over. at 1.8m, the lead offers ample length to reach the batteries where the charger can t be installed directly beside the batteries. The Probe is ideal for batteries used in warmer climates as well as in enclosed or semi-sealed compartments that offer minimal ventilation, often found in caravans etc, where temperatures can often reach excessive levels and could otherwise cause overheating or over of the batteries. 35
