TOP TIP 1. Use other photographers and artists as a springboard for your own ideas. 2. Do work in the style of them. 3. Respond to similar themes/subject matter. To experiment with and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining their ideas as their work develops. TOP TIPS 1. Show how you have tested things out with print-offs, annotations, screenshots and thumbnails. 2. Demonstrate that you have considered different approaches. 3. Refine your work as it goes through the journey toward your outcome(s). To record in visual and/or other forms ideas, observations and insights relevant to their intentions demonstrating an ability to reflect on their work and progress. TOP TIPS 1. Take photographs with purpose. 2. Use your camera outside school and take it with you EVERYWHERE. 3. Think about technique Lighting, composition/viewpo ints. 4. Remember, you cannot make a successful outcome from a poor quality original photograph!!! To present a personal, informed and meaningful response demonstrating critical understanding, realising intentions and, where appropriate, making connections between visual, written, oral and other elements. TOP TIPS 1. Is your response(s) imaginative, personal and meaningful? 2. Can you see links to the work of others? 3. Skilfully present your work. Attention to detail counts with photography!!!

5 Shutter Speed Fast Shutter Speed Capture a moment Slow Shutter Speed Takes time to capture

6 The higher the ISO the more sensitive you are making your camera to light. The darker the environment = higher ISO setting ISO

8 When creating a photographer/artist research page in your folder follow these key points: 1. Make sure that you use the photographer s/artist s name as the title of the research page. 2. Find several good quality images of their work. 3. Analyse their overall body of work (Use your annotation help sheet as a guide) 4. Analyse one image by going into detail about it 5. Write down, how you are going to use this photographer/artist as inspiration for your own practical work. 6. PRESENT IT CREATIVELY!!! If you don t know the photographer or artists name then you can t use them!!!
