1 2011 Pennsylvania State Fly Tying Championship Rules All flies submitted by participants and tied during the contest become the property of Cumberland Valley Trout Unlimited The decision of the judges is final Standard Pattern and Recipes are found on the Cumberland Valley Trout Unlimited website at Entrants who have been selected to participate in the final event will be notified of two of the three patterns which they must tie. The third pattern will be made known to them on the day of the event. Each contestant is responsible for supplying their own materials for the final event. CVTU will provide all hooks to contestants. A list of materials the contestants should bring will be posted on and will be mailed and/or ed to the finalists beforehand. The unknown fly will be a fly selected from each list in each category. Finalists may bring desk reference materials with them to the event. Finalists may not bring any hooks, completed flies or flies in any stage of construction into the competition area. Tool kits and reference materials will be inspected prior to the start of the final contest. No coaching is permitted for finalists during the event. The finalists will have two hours to complete three flies. Two known flies and a fly to be announced the day of the event. Any finalist contestant who leaves the tying area during the competition will be deemed to be completed with the patterns and will not be allowed to return to the vice to tie any additional flies or complete any flies under construction. Finalists will receive a FREE pass to the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show in order to participate in the final fly tying event. Watch this website for updates prior to the event. 1
