4 4 The mounted sprayer is capable for spraying on plane fields. The fiberglass-reinforced polyester spray tank (main tank) is fixed on the frame of the machine. connection placed on the bottom of the tank helps the total discharging. The homogenity of the spray liquid is ensured by a high performance agitating injector. Fig.3: Agitating injector Fig.2: Main tank The filling hole of the main tank is closed by an opening lid attached to the machine. A strainer is placed in the filling hole to catch the coarse contaminants. In the strainer a chemical flushing head is placed to make the flushing and agitating of the pesticides easier. 5 The filling level of the main tank can be seen on a tank contents indicator placed on the front of the tank. 5 Fig.6: Operating elements According to the agrotechnical requirements, the machine is equipped with rinsing water and clean water tanks. 6 6 Fig.9: Pump Fig.8: Clean water tank The main parts of the spraying system are the followings: the pump, the filters, the manual distribution control (control valve, pressure regulating valve, sectioning valves, throttling valves, pressure gauge) and the distribution system (spray boom). The driving of the 3 chamber diaphragm pump is from the tractor s PTO through a cardan axle. The pump delivers the liquid from the spray tank to the manual distribution control through the suction filter. The spraying pressure can be adjusted by a hand operated pressure regulating valve, the value can be read on the pressure gauge mounted on the armature. Fig.10: Pressure gauge The individual segments (sections) of the spray boom can be switched on and off by the sectioning valves and the pressure changes that occur when switching the whole spray boom or section(s) of it can

7 be eliminated by the throttling valves placed behind the sectioning valves. From the distribution control the spray liquid gets to the distribution system (spray boom) through the self-cleaning central filter. Fig.11: Manual distribution control and central filter The plane framework structure, 5 element, trapeze pendulum suspended spray boom made of pipes is foldable transverse behind the spray tank. The opening and closing of the spray boom can be done manually and the continuous adjustment of the height can be done by a hydraulic cylinder. 7 Fig.12: Spray boom and pendulum The two ends of the spray boom in case of contact with obstacles can deviate both to rear and front directions and they go back immediatelly and automatically to their original positions. On the boom the spraying lines are mounted with bolt connections. On the spraying lines the nozzle bodies are fixed by bolted joints too, on which the spraying nozzles are equipped with springloaded, rubber-membrane, anti-dripping valves and filters. The conventional flat fan nozzles that are fixed on the nozzle bodies with bayonet joints atomize and dose the spray liquid to the target surface.

10 Explanation on testing 10 Testing takes place according to a procedure which was developed by the competent testing authorities of the European countries participating in ENTAM. This procedure is based on the CEN standard EN Agricultural and forestry machinery Plant protection equipment for the application of plant protection products and liquid fertilisers. The tests were conducted according to the Technical Instructions (TI) for ENTAM-Tests of Field Crop Sprayers (Rel.4). This test is only a technical performance test which takes place without an accompanying field test. The test results apply only to the tested appurtenances of the sprayer. Statements on the behaviour of the sprayer with different appurtenances cannot be derived from these results.
