On a SMART Bard 800 series interactive whitebard, tw users ne using a pen and the ther using his r her finger can create and manipulate bjects at the same time in SMART Ntebk sftware. A Quick Start Tutrial is available. The new Calligraphic Pens tl is like the Pens tl, but it smthes yur writing r drawing and prduces lines f varying thickness. N N OT E The Calligraphic Pens tl is available nly if yur cmputer is cnnected t a SMART interactive prduct. SMART Ntebk sftware can imprt and exprt Cmmn File Frmat (.iwb) files. SMART Ntebk sftware includes user interfaces in Cratian and Serbian. The sftware s perfrmance is better, especially with images and shapes and pages with image fills. SMART Ntebk sftware 10.7 intrduces Sptlight and Quicklk integratin fr.ntebk files. As a result,.ntebk files that cntain the search text appear in the OS search results and yu can preview the cntents f.ntebk files withut actually pening SMART Ntebk sftware. 3

4 Reslved issues Yu can draw digital ink ver Adbe Flash Player cmpatible files. Enabling user tracking n lnger causes SMART Ntebk sftware t stp respnding. The Eraser tl ribbn nly appears when yu press the Eraser tl n the tlbar. N N OT E This issue didn t affect SMART Bard 800 series interactive whitebards. Yu can nw use the Fill tl t apply fill prperties t bjects using a pen r yur finger. Previusly, yu had t use a muse. Yu can nw marquee select ver lcked bjects. SMART Ntebk sftware 10.7 starts mre quickly than previus versins. SMART Ntebk sftware can save files t netwrk drives in a dependable manner. When yu search fr items in the Gallery tab, the results mre accurately reflect what yu re searching fr. SMART Ntebk sftware includes imprved language supprt, in particular imprved supprt fr right-t-left languages. The tlbar displays crrectly. Writing n the interactive whitebard r using screen shades n lnger triggers Windws 7 perating system finger gestures (when enabled). SMART Ntebk sftware 10.7 includes the fllwing imprvements relating t Adbe Flash Player cmpatible files: Yu can type text in the Scrlling Text Banner. Flash Cards recgnize all written numbers. The Text Splitter and Randm Text Tl supprt accented characters. Yu can enter text in the Spinner (). Editing the Dice Keywrd item wrks as expected. Exprting t HTML nw wrks with Firefx and Safari brwsers in additin t Internet Explrer Internet brwser (with the SVG viewer plug-in). 5 Knwn issues General When yu und the gruping r ungruping f bjects, they aren t selected prperly. Resizing, rtating and ther actins yu apply t these bjects dn t wrk as expected. Fr mre infrmatin, see smarttech.cm/kb/ SMART Ntebk sftware stps respnding when yu exprt a file as PDF with characters in its file name that aren t supprted by yur perating system s language. When yu use SMART Ntebk Dcument Writer, equatins and tables can verlap. If yu attempt t capture a dcument that cntains OpenType fnts using the Dcument Writer feature, a warning message appears and prmpts yu t save the dcument in versin 9 frmat. Exprted.iwb files dn t supprt SMART Ntebk Math Tls graphs. If SMART Bard Tls isn t running when SMART Ntebk sftware starts, SMART Ntebk sftware might nt recgnize input frm the interactive whitebard. T reslve this issue, always ensure that SMART Bard Tls is running befre yu start SMART Ntebk sftware. Yu have imprved pen perfrmance when writing in digital ink ver a backgrund grid, detailed image r Adbe Flash Player cmpatible file. Yu can see SMART Ntebk Math Tls equatins mre clearly. During SMART Ntebk Gallery setup, yu can add additinal language supprt. When yu use the Infinite Clner tl, bjects appear exactly where yu drp them. When SMART Ntebk sftware is set t a right-t-left language, such as Hebrew r Arabic, the cursr aligns t the right. Yu can see image files mre clearly when yu pen SMART Ntebk files. Yu can mre reliably alternate between tuch recgnitin and drawing with a pen. When yu write n a SMART Ntebk page that has many large images r Gallery items, digital ink is smther. Netwrk perfrmance is imprved when SMART Ntebk sftware is cnfigured t access a shared gallery. Yu can enter accented characters in text bxes using key cmbinatins. Yu can imprt r drag larger images int a SMART Ntebk file. N N OT E Image files ver 100 MB can reduce system perfrmance. Yu can edit text inside a shape and the previus text desn t reappear. Yu can use Adbe Flash Player cmpatible files in SMART Ntebk sftware n Intel based cmputers using. Knwn issues General The Gallery setup windw is always displayed in English. 7

8 When yu resize Adbe Flash Player cmpatible sticky ntes frm the Lessn Activity Tlkit, SMART Ntebk sftware clses unexpectedly. When Adbe Flash Player 10.1 is installed n a PwerPC based Mac cmputer, SMART Ntebk sftware can quit unexpectedly when yu use Adbe Flash Player cmpatible cntent within yur SMART Ntebk file. If yu already installed SMART Ntebk sftware 10, remve it, install Sente sftware, and then reinstall SMART Ntebk sftware 10. Install and pen SMART Ntebk sftware 10 befre yu install SMART Bard drivers 10. If yu install SMART Ntebk sftware 10 n a Mac cmputer and an errr message appears stating that SMART Ntebk sftware is unable t pen, reinstall SMART Ntebk sftware. If yu install SMART Ntebk sftware 10 n a Mac cmputer that has n Internet cnnectin and yu want t install Essentials fr Educatrs gallery cntent, yu must install this cntent manually. Brwse t the CD, select Cntent/SMART Essentials, duble-click the SMARTEssentials.gallerycllectin file, and then fllw the nscreen directins. Yu can enter a valid activatin cde during the SMART Ntebk installatin t activate the sftware. The SMART Ntebk sftware installatin remves previus versins f Gallery Setup. Yu can drag flders t the trash t remve applicatins. Knwn issues General When yu install SMART Ntebk sftware, yu can select the ptin t install the Lessn Activity Tlkit and Gallery files. If yu select this ptin, the installatin takes mre time t 24

25 cmplete. If yur.ntebk file includes gradient r pattern fill effects and yu exprt it as a PDF r HTML file, the exprted file may display these fill effects incrrectly. Yu re unable t pen SMART Ntebk sftware and Number Cruncher n the same cmputer. If yu insert a numeric Sente sftware questin n a.ntebk file page, Sente sftware can display incrrect results. Yu re unable t use the Print Capture feature if SMART Ntebk sftware is already started. The nly vide files yu can insert n a.ntebk file page are.flv files, even if yu install additinal encders t supprt the insertin f ther vide file types. SMART Ntebk sftware desn t save yur animatin settings when yu clse yur file. Animated ntes can lse their riginal shape. Yu re smetimes unable t retrieve animated bjects that mve ff the side f the whitebard area. Yu re unable t pen a sptlight r magnifier using the Magic Pen tl n cmputers with a 16- bit r lwer clr quality and running the Windws Vista 64-bit r Windws 2000 perating systems. Using the Eyedrpper tl causes SMART Ntebk sftware t stp respnding n cmputers with a 16-bit r lwer clr quality and running the Windws Vista 64-bit r Windws 2000 perating system. Yu re unable t use the Print Capture feature n cmputers running the Windws Vista 64-bit perating system. Yu re unable t use the Page Recrding feature n cmputers running the Windws 2000 perating system. Yu re unable t use the Animatin feature n cmputers running the Windws 2000 perating system. SMART Ntebk sftware can clse unexpectedly n Mac OS X 10.5 (Lepard) perating system sftware. After it clses fr the first time, SMART Ntebk sftware can clse unexpectedly mre frequently. If yur.ntebk file includes gradient r pattern fill effects and yu print it, the printed file can display these fill effects incrrectly. 25
