4 INTRODUCTION EMTA has been working in the energy transmission and distribution market since EMTA serves its respectful clients through its own manufacturing, trading and contracting subsidiaries. Over the last 10 years, EMTA has transformed itself from a company focused on the domestic market to a company that serves the needs of customers in many countries in 5 continents. In addition to Turkish market, the markets that the company focused on are Middle East, North Africa, North America and Turkish Republics energy transmission and distribution markets EMTA aims to be a reliable partner in order to enhance and add value to the projects of our customers. We recognize the vital role that our strategic customers have played in shaping EMTA to date and we intend to build on these foundations, adapt and support the diverse and varying needs of our customers in future. Our subsidiaries and their activities are as following EMTA CABLE Inc. is the leader aluminum overhead line conductor manufacturer in Turkey with its annual aluminum conductor processing capacity of tones / year. The capacity shall be doubled till end of 2009 by completion of new factory investment in Kadirli/Turkey. EMTA ENGINEERING & CONTRACTING Inc. completed turnkey high voltage energy transmission line and substation projects in Iraq, Libya, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Jordan where it is the most respectful contracting company in Turkish market. EMTA TRADING Inc is marketing & sales company. Differently from its competitors, the company provides an engineering-support in order to simplify our customer s technical teams work.

11 EMTA CABLE Since it s foundation, EMTA CABLE has been one of the largest conductor exporter of Turkey and its reels are very well known in Middle East, Turkish Republics, North Africa, Balkans in Europe as well as the company is currently leader company in Turkish market. The factory is located at İzmit/Turkey, in the northwest of Turkey, with motorway, railway and seaway connections, enabling us in order to serve our respectful customers fast and efficient service in every aspect. Focusing on the development of its technology, capacity, human resource and product range, EMTA CABLE employs 85 personnel and exports to more than 12 countries in 3 continents. Today EMTA CABLE stands on an area of 14,000m² of which 8,000 m² is closed workshops. The factory has an annual aluminum conductor processing capacity of 24,000 tons. With the following the changes in demand of the markets, EMTA CABLE have laid the foundation of second factory in industrial zone in Kadirli/Turkey, which has also motorway, railway and seaway connections and advantage of being close to Middle East markets. Existing tones/year capacity shall be doubled by completion of the new factory lately end of The factory is manufacturing All Aluminum Conductor (AAC), Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced, Aluminum Alloy Conductor (AAAC) and Twisted Over Head Line Conductor with international standards. All aluminum products of EMTA CABLE are manufactured by continuous casting process of A7E aluminum ingots. Output of continuous aluminum casting is rolled aluminum rod having a diameter of 9.50 mm. Annual aluminum casting capacity of the current plant is 30,000 metric tons and it will be soon 60,000 tons by the implementation of new investment. Hard drawn aluminum wires ranging from 1,50 mm to 5,40 mm is manufactured according to ASTM and EN with an annual output of 20,000 tons. All aluminum conductors, with a number of at most 91 wires, are manufactured in accordance with most common standards like ASTM, EN, DIN and BS. Compacted aluminum conductors for insulated cables are provided for the leading cable manufacturers in Turkey. Aluminum conductors steel reinforced with different constructions for different requirements are designed and manufactured in accordance with major standards like ASTM, EN, DIN and BS. Aerial Bundled Cables, ABC, PE and XLPE insulated (Twisted cables PE and XLPE insulated) are manufactured according to NF C All semi-finished and finished products are subjected to routine tests in the laboratory approved by Institute of Turkish Standards. The company quality policy has been certified by SGS with ISO9001: 2000 and ISO14001 certificates.

13 EMTA supplies the galvanized steel lattice tower & polygonal poles for its contracting and trading subsidiaries from MİTAŞ. Established in 1955, MITAS Energy and Metal Construction Inc. designs, manufactures and undertakes the construction works of steel structures for energy, telecommunication industries. Focusing on the development of its technology, capacity, human resource and product range, MITAS employs around 1,000 personnel and exports to more than 110 countries in 5 continents. In 2007, the total sales of MITAS Inc. was 161,66 million USD and MITAS Inc. exported 68,600 metric tons of towers and poles. Today MITAS Inc. stands on an area of 82,000m² of which 42,000 m² is closed workshops. The factory has an annual steel processing capacity of 90,000 tons. All MITAS Inc. steel products are hot dipped galvanized by MITAS Galvanizing Co. MITAS Galvanizing Co. has 5 galvanizing plants with an annual galvanizing capacity of 120,000 tons in accordance with ASTM and EN ISO Fasteners for our full range of steel products are also manufactured in MITAS Bolt Factory in compliance with DIN and ASA-B standards. The product spectrum includes hot dipped galvanized bolts up to a size of M24 (1 inch) size, anchor bolts up to a size of M64 size including nuts and washers with a capacity of 10,000 tons per year. MİTAŞ Pole Inc is partnership with Valmont, USA. MİCHA Galvanized Steel Construction Inc. is partnership with Charignon Fayat Group, France. MITAS Inc is certified by SGS Yarsley UK to ISO 9001 while its welding certification is certified by SLV Munich in Germany. MITAS Inc is also a member of Galvanizers Association (England) and American Galvanizers Association (USA). At MITAS, testing of raw materials, semi finished goods and finished goods are performed in accordance with our Quality Management System. MITAS main activities within the energy sector can be summarized as follows: Design and manufacture of the full product range including: Towers for Overhead Transmission Line including 750 kv multiple circuit lines. Poles for Overhead Transmission Line including 750 kv multiple circuit lines Substation Steel Structures Lighting Poles, Flood Lighting Poles, Flag Poles, Ski Poles.
