1 Munster Ladies Gaelic Football Association UL v Cork at 2pm University of Limerick, North Campus Sports Grounds Referee: Mike Duffy Tipperary Secretary MLGFA Clar Oifigiúil Luach 3
2 I welcome everyone here today to UL for our inaugural Jim Kennedy Cup final, especially the players and mentors of both teams taking part. We are very grateful to UL for providing us with such a fantastic venue for our final and it is very fitting that today we are honouring the first President of Ladies Gaelic Football Jim Kennedy. Today we have the pleasure of seeing reigning All Ireland Champions Cork take on the local College UL in what should be a very exciting and entertaining final, both panels are laced with very very talented players and we look forward to a close fought entertaining contest. I also take this opportunity to thank Waterford, IT Tralee and MICL Colleges for taking part in this tournament and hope they enjoyed and benefited from the experience. Thanks to the Tipperary Ladies County Board for sponsoring the medals for todays final and to everyone who helped organise the launch earlier this month. To all the referees and umpires who officiated at the games and best wishes to Mike Duffy officiating the final also DJ Collins who came to us with the idea to run this tournament we say thanks. To Jim Kennedy his wife Lily and family we wish you many years of good health and happiness and may you and Lily witness many more Kennedy Cup finals. To my fellow officers well done on making this tournament a great success, may it grow to be a fitting tribute to a great man who has given so much to Ladies Gaelic Football. Thanks to MLGFA supporters and long may your support continue. Brian Enright MLGFA President Jim & Lily Kennedy accompanied by their four daughters at the launch of the Jim Kennedy Cup at UL
