1 SAM Animation: Installation Mac Installation - From the Internet - From the Software CD PC Installation - From the Internet - From the Software CD

2 Mac Installation Visit to download SAM Animation software. Free demo versions are available as well as single and site licenses. Software may be purchased as an Internet download or as a CD. To receive a CD, simply request on the Software Options portion of purchasing. Installing from the Internet You will receive an with a link to download the software. The contains your account address and activation key, which you will need later. Go to the provided link and login to your icreate account. Select the download type that fits your computer. There are three options: SAM Animation for Mac SAM for Windows with QuickTime SAM for Windows without QuickTime Download Window SAM Animation will appear in your Downloads window. Click the magnifying glass to open your Downloads folder and click to launch SAM. Enter Activation Key Enter your address and license key from the you received. Click Activate to complete the download. Tip: Copy and paste the license key to avoid errors, as it is long! Saving Options You will then be given the option to save in the default location or a location of your choice. If you choose default, a SAM Animation folder will be created under your Documents folder. Note: We recommend using the default saving location. 3

3 Create Workspace If you decide to choose the location, select the desired folder and click the Create Workstation button in the bottom right. The start menu will open. 4

4 CD Icon Installing from the SAM Software CD Insert your SAM Animation CD. The CD icon will appear on your desktop. Double click it. Open.img File A screen will open with the SAM Animation.img file on it. Double Click it. SAM Icon Another icon will appear on your desktop. Double click the icon and a new window will open. Open.dmg File Double click the SAM Animation.dmg file. Continued on next page 5

5 Drag into Applications A new window with the SAM Animation icon and Applications folder will open. Drag the SAM icon into your Applications folder. Go to the Applications folder and double click to open SAM. Enter Activation Key When you open SAM, you will be prompted to enter your address and license key (received earlier in an ). After entering both, click Activate to complete the download. Tip: Copy and paste the license key from the to avoid errors, as it is long! Saving Options You will then be given the option to save in the default location or a location of your choice. If you choose Default, a SAM Animation folder will be created under your Documents folder. Note: We recommend using the default saving location. Select Open. A new window will appear, showing the progress of the downloading process. Open SAM Animation Setup When the download is complete, the SAM Animation folder will open. Double click the SAM_Animation_Setup application in the folder. 7

7 icreate to Educate Spyware Protection If your computer has spyware protection like Norton Antivirus or a similar program, you may be asked if you want to give the SAM Animation Setup program access to your computer. Click Yes to continue the downloading process. Setup Wizard Setup Wizard will open and guide you through the steps to finishing your installation. Click the Next button to continue. User Agreement Read the User Agreement for SAM and then click I Agree to continue. Continued on next page 8

8 Install Components Select which components of SAM Animation you wish to install. Then click the next button. Note: We suggest that you install all of the components. Install Location Select your install location using the Browse button. Once you have selected your desired saving location, click Install. SAM Shortcut You will be asked whether you want to create a desktop shortcut for SAM Animation. Select Yes or No to continue. Continued on next page 9

9 Next SAM Animation will download. Click Next to continue. You will then be reminded to install your webcam drivers. Again click Next to continue. Run SAM Animation Open SAM Animation to finish installing. You will then need to enter some information from your purchase . Open SAM Animation Setup The folder will open. Select the SAM Animation_Setup program and double click it.
