He died in Albemarle Co., VA. Notes for Jesse Harlan: Jesse and Sarah imigrated from Pennsylvania to Maryland after the birth of their children and then they moved on to Albemarle Co., Virginia. The house where Jesse was born was built about 1725 by his grandfather George. It was enlarged at least once, perhaps when John inherited it when he became 21 (1737) (or more likely, perhaps, when he married in 1740.). Dinah Dixon, "ye Daughter of Henry Dixon and settled first Neer ye Senter Meeting House." They afterward removed into London Grove Twp., where Michael died the "Fourth Month" (June), 1729, and was bur. in Friends' Buring Grounds. His wife doubtless buried there also." Notes for Joel Baily: From History and Genealogy of the Harlan Family by Alpheus Harlan: Joel Baily is supposed to have come from Wiltshire, England. One among the early purchasers of land in the Province of Pennsylvania was a Daniel Baily, who resided in Westbrook, in the parish of Bromham, Wiltshire. He was by trade and occupation a weaver, and in 1681 purchased a warrant for 125 acres of land in the Colony of William Penn, which was subsequently located in Birmingham Township, Chester County. He never came to America, but one Joel Baily, who was probably a near relative of his, appears to have been concerned in the sale of this land in 1713 to one William Radley. Joel Baily and Ann Short were married in Chester County, and resided on lands which were partly in Middletown and partly in Aston (now in Delware County). in 1704/5 he removed to Marleborough, and afterwards into West Marlborough where he died in Ann Short.
