1 BkViewer Supprt Dcument BkViewer ffers a real-time view f the rder depth in NASDAQ OMX fr NASDAQ-listed securities and ther exchange-listed securities including: the tp buy and sell rders fr all issues. security-level rder statistics, price charts and trade data displays. BkViewer prvides a real-time, autmatically updating view f rder data. BkViewer is currently available n the NASDAQ OMX Wrkstatin and n the DataStre website. In rder t view BkViewer, yur brwser must supprt Java 1.1 r a mre recent versin. BkViewer windw displays data fr rders entered fr a given security. 2 I. BkViewer Cmpnents 1. Help - Help prvides access t this help dcument. 2. Stck Symbl - Identifies the stck being displayed. Please nte that BkViewer is designed t display data fr ne security at a time. T mnitr multiple securities, please pen multiple BkViewer windws. 3. Get Stck - Enter the stck symbl fr which yu wish t see bk data, and click G. 4. Last Match (Price) - Reflects the executin price frm the mst recent rder match fr the particular security. Please nte that trades matched utside are nt included in the calculatin. The display will shw N/A if there are n matches fr the current trading day. 5. Last Match (Time) - Reflects the time stamp given by t the match transactin reflected in the Last Match Price. 6. Tday's Activity (Orders) - Reflects the cumulative number f displayable rders fr the security during the current trading day. This number des nt include nn-display rders (such as immediate-r-cancel rders r n-pen/n-clse rders).

3 7. Tday's Activity (Vlume) - Reflects the ttal number f shares matched during the current day. This vlume cunts each change f beneficial wnership nce. Fr example, if participant "A" sells 100 shares t participant "B", the BkViewer vlume will increase by 100 shares. 8. Buy Orders and Sell Orders - Display up t the first 15 individual buy and sell rders currently visible, pen and available fr instant matching. Buy rders are n the left, and sell rders are n the right. Orders are listed accrding t price and time pririty s rders higher n the list will be executed befre rders lwer n the list. Hidden rders are nt displayed. The backgrund clrs help t visually grup equally priced rders at the first fur prices. 9. Shares - Reflects the number f shares, per rder, available fr an instant match. The displayed amunt may be less than the riginal number f shares entered if the rder was partially executed r partially canceled. 10. Price - Reflects the limit price fr each rder, displayed in decimals. 11. Cnnectin Status - Shws the state f BkViewer's cnnectin. Pssible values include: Cnnecting The applet is trying t initiate a new cnnectin t the BkViewer server ver the internet. This ccurs each time yu request a new stck. The applet may take a secnd t cnnect, depending n the speed f the internet cnnectin. Cnnected The applet has successfully cnnected t the server and is awaiting the arrival f the first packet f data. Cnnectin Lst The applet's cnnectin t the server was unexpectedly terminated. Check yur internet cnnectin, and request the stck again. Unknwn Stck The requested stck was nt fund. Yu may have requested an invalid stck symbl, r there may nt have been any rders entered yet tday fr that stck. Check the stck symbl, and try again. As f A time stamp that indicates the timeliness f the displayed data. In the Java versin, this timestamp shuld update each time the displayed data changes r abut nce every 15 secnds if the displayed data is nt changing. The time stamp is expressed in 24-hur frmat based n U.S. Eastern Time. II. BkViewer Frequently Asked Questins (FAQs) What is BkViewer? BkViewer prvides a real-time representatin f NASDAQ OMX s limit rder bk. BkViewer is accessible with a subscriptin t ne the fllwing NASDAQ OMX prducts: NASDAQ OMX Wrkstatin Net Order Imbalance Indicatr (NOII) website Des BkViewer prvide real-time data? BkViewer displays "real time" infrmatin. The time f the last update is shwn in the lwer left crner. What d the clrs in BkViewer mean? The clrs nly help t visually grup rders at the same price n each side f the market. T what granularity is size reflected n BkViewer? BkViewer shws display size fr each rder in actual shares (nt rund lts). What d the numbers (e.g., 259 mre) at the bttm f the buy and sell clumns mean?

4 Due t display limitatins, BkViewer nly shws the tp 15 buy rders and the tp 15 sell rders fr each stck. The number listed belw each clumn indicates the number f additinal rders currently awaiting executin fr that stck. Why am I am experiencing prblems with the BkViewer? There are sme cmmn reasns why individuals might have prblems running BkViewer. Please refer t the BkViewer Trubleshting sectin. III. BkViewer Trubleshting Belw are cmmn reasns why yu might be experiencing prblems running BkViewer: Yur brwser des nt run Java 1.1 applets. In rder t run BkViewer, yu will need a web brwser capable f running Java 1.1 r higher. Sme f the web brwsers that have been tested with the BkViewer applet include: Java is disabled in yur brwser. Sme cmpanies disable the ability t run Java applets as a security precautin. Check with yur system administratr t ensure that Java is enabled n yur cmputer. Yu are nt cnnected t the Internet. If yu use a mdem t cnnect t the Internet, make sure that the Internet is cnnected; therwise the BkViewer applet will nt be able t cnnect back t its server. Yu are trying t send mre than fur requests in a 15-secnd perid. Micrsft Internet Explrer limits an applet t a maximum f fur simultaneus cnnectins. If yu try t query mre than fur stcks in a 15-secnd perid, Internet Explrer will nt let the newest cnnectin g thrugh until the ldest cnnectin has expired. While the applet is waiting fr the cnnectin, yu will see the message "Cnnecting" in the bttm left crner f the windw. Yu are using Micrsft Internet Explrer. BkViewer was wrking, but nw yu just get a blank screen. If yu have nt previusly experienced any prblems running the Java BkViewer, it is pssible that

5 the Micrsft Virtual Machine was crrupted via installatins f ther sftware n yur system f that yu d nt have the latest versin f Virtual Machine. In this case, yu can dwnlad and re-install the Micrsft Virtual Machine fr free frm the Micrsft site. Other system requirements fr BkViewer. Ensure yu have the fllwing: 1. Latest versin f Java: ( 2. Nte: Always launch frm My Accunt; Always clse the brwser and run each applicatin individually, after launching. Nte: Sme users experience a lst cnnectin within a minute when lgging n t BkViewer. This culd be due t prblems with the cmputer s virus prtectin sftware r firewall where it des nt allw t receive streaming data frm NASDAQ OMX. Yu went thrugh all the checks, and Java still desn't wrk.
