M.O.C. and M.A.A.A. - Established in 1991 THE NEW CHALLENGE FLAT & FAST OVERSEAS ENTRY FORM & RACE DETAILS of all FIVE RACES Race 1: The FULL Malta International Challenge Marathon - 1 runner, runs 3 stages Race 2: Team Challenge Relay - Three different runners, one runs each stage Race 3: 10 Mile (16.097km) - Friday 25 th November Race 4: 5km - Saturday 26 th November Race 5: 1/2 Marathon ( km) - Sunday 27 th November You now have 5 CHOICES of the NEW CHALLENGE MARATHON A great Malta Festival event Please refer to the attached race Entry Fee page 4, for the entry fees for ALL 5 races & deadlines THERE IS NO IMPOSED LIMIT TO ANY RACE BUT IT IS SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY UP TO OUR DEADLINES RACE DAY INFORMATION Stage Date Race Start Time Distance Time Limit Age 1: Friday 25 November 13.00hrs 10 Mile ( km) 2 hr 30 mins 17 y Starting at the Tal-Providenza Residence Home close to the Town of Siggiewi in the South West of the Island. This 10 Mile leg ( km) is a 2 lap out and back race and is an EXTREAMLY FLAT route. The outbound lap heads towards Rabat with a turning point at 4 km and with a water station. The 8 km turning point is where the start is and again another water station. This lap is then repeated with the start and finish in the same place. The final run in to the finish is a 50 mt stretch in the grounds of Tal-Providenza. Water stations at 4 km, 8 km, 12 km and at the finish. 2: Saturday 26 November 14.00hrs 5 km 1 hr 17 y Starting in the centre of Marsascala, in the very South of the Island, near the Summer Nights Bar and Restaurant. Heading towards the old Jerma Palce Hotel and Mamo Tower on to St. Thomas Bay returning back to Marsascala on the one way system to the finish at the Church and school. One lap with the start and finish within a few metres of each other. Water Station at the finish only. This one lap route is EXTREAMLY FLAT. 3: Sunday 27 November 08.00hrs 1/2 Marathon ( km) 3 hrs 30 mins 17 y Starting and finishing in the centre of Bugibba seaside resort on the North East side of Malta, just 600 mts from our race H.Q. Dolmen Resort and the San Antoine 4* hotels. This is an EXTREAMLY FLAT 2 lap course. The race heads out, passing our two hotels, towards the Qawra point following the Coast line to Kennedy Grove, left onto the Coast road passing the Salt pans and up to the km turning point at the Ghallis Tower and water station. Following the same route back to the turning circle at km in the centre of Bugibba, repeating the same lap again. The finish area offers many bars and restaurants, all with toilet facilities. Water stations are at km, km, km and at the km finish. **NB: Measured to IAAF and AIMS regulations and standards. IAAF and AIMS do have a tolerance of 0.1% of the total Marathon distance is allowed, in this case it is +/ mts. 2 OUR FULL LAND PACKAGE FOR RUNNERS AND PARTNERS WHERE DOES YOUR CHALLENGE RUNNING HOLIDAY START Your "Land Package" with us, starts at the Malta International Airport, on arrival; you will be met by our professional driver from Drifter Car Hire & Cab Services. You will then be transferred to either the 4* Dolmen Resort Hotel or the 4* San Antonio Resort Hotel, both in Qawra. These two hotels are next to each other. You will be assisted with check-in and explained where our information desks will be situated during your holiday in Malta and at the two hotels. We will be there to help and advise you during your stay. If you request, your flight will be re-checked with the airport information prior to departure. Our professional driver will transfer you back to the Airport for the conclusion of your sports holiday. DOLMEN RESORT HOTEL 4 * & SAN ANTONIO HOTEL & SPA 4* OUR RACE H.Q s. Both these hotel s are situated at the water's edge in a beautiful location in Qawra, overlooking St. Paul s Bay and only 600 mts from Stage 3 start and finish. They are both top 4* units with all the facilities one would expect from hotels of this standard which can be seen from and The promenade of Qawra, Bugibba and St. Paul s Bay has over 8km (there and back) of wide off road and "traffic free" promenade, which also forms part of stage 3 of the Challenge, perfect for training runs. In the evening, great for "after dinner" walks, ice cream parlors, bars and coffee shops. Both Hotels are in very easy walk to the main bus terminus where the buses reach all parts of the Island You may find some facilities restricted in the local area during the winter months of November to April. You will not be an official runner and will not be given your running bib should we not receive this declaration. RACE ENTRY TO THE 2016 MCM BOOKED WITH ONE OF OUR OFFICIAL AGENTS: ALL overseas runners entering the Malta International "Challenge" Marathon in conjunction with one of our appointed "official agent" WILL BE ACCEPTED. These official agents will confirm your flights directly to you and then to us and they will also confirm your land package with us directly. RACE ENTRY TO THE 2016 MCM BOOKED DIRECTLY TO OUR OFFICE: When you book your land package directly with us to our office, you must first send us an for us to confirm and reserve your hotel place / s and running bib / s. Once we confirm and reserve your place / s, we give you 7 days to get your flight, booking forms & payment to us, after 7 days, the option will fall. RACE ENTRY TO THE 2016 MCM BOOKED DIRECTLY TO THE DOLMEN OR SAN ANTONIO OR ANY OTHER HOTEL: However, booking the Dolmen / San Antonio Resort Hotel / or any other hotel or accommodation, on your own direct or via a non appointed agent and not through us or our appointed agent, means you WILL NOT have a guaranteed race entry. Entry Only is available FROM the 1 st August 2016 but first by request by and the number will be limited to 10% of the allocation reserved. TEAM & PAIRS DECLARATION: Runners must DECLARE their intention no later than Thursday 24 th November RACE PERMITS: Permits must be obtained by us, to be able to organize this event. Permits are from the Local Councils, MEPA, Police and MTA. Should any permit not be issued or withdraw for reasons beyond our control, the race may have to be cancelled. However clients would still have their holiday as the land package is different to the race entry package. In the very remote case of this happening, we would refund 50% of the race entry fee but would not be responsible for other expenses that you may have. GENERAL CONDITIONS BOOKINGS OPEN: 1 st April 2016, the booking system opens and each booking will be confirmed by when we receive the paperwork. Our paperwork will be sent at the end of each calendar month following receipt of booking. COMPLETED RACE ENTRY AND LAND PACKAGE FORMS: These two forms should be completed in CAPITAL LETTERS, in BLACK INK and the forms must be SIGNED. For Entry Only we only need to receive a completed entry form and payment. FINAL DEADLINE: The final deadline for both Race Entry & Land Package is 31 st October 2016 but is most likely to be earlier if the bed limit is reached before and it will always be subject to availability. Entry Only ends on 31 st October POST / Post / your Land Package and Race Entry forms, flight confirmation & payment to the address on page 5. CANCELLATION: Cancellation of any part of your booking and at any time is NON REFUNDABLE so make sure you are insured correctly.
