If you have participated in the past, you already know how much fun this will be. If you have never attended an ISPE Fun Day, you are in for a great surprise! 2 Event Summary All participants will start their 2012 Fun Day with an 8am complimentary networking breakfast that includes bloody marys and screwdrivers. Wine Tour participants will depart the golf course in shuttles promptly at 9:45 am. Golfers will be asked to go to their carts at 10:00 am for a shotgun start targeted at 10:30 am. At approximately 4:00 pm, the ISPE will host a banquet dinner open to ALL participants to network and reminisce about the day's events. Golf Tournament Poppy Ridge Golf Course is a 27 hole golf facility where the tournament will be played on three 9 hole courses (everyone plays two of the three tracks). Poppy Ridge's three championship courses hug the rolling terrain of the Livermore Valley wine country, providing 27 holes of challenging and exciting golf. The Rees Jones design follows the Scottish Heathland tradition and delivers the highest quality golf links and captivating views on the Merlot, Chardonnay and Zinfandel nines. It is owned and operated by the Northern California Golf Association. We will continue a scramble format where the best shot from each player is used. This format makes the game fun for golfers of all abilities. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams, as well as closest to the pin and longest drive holes. Livermore Valley Winery Tours and Lobster Feed! Wine participants are welcome to attend the networking breakfast at the Poppy Ridge Golf Course at 8:00. We will convene in the golf course parking lot at 9:15 am to board shuttles which will depart PROMPTLY at 9:45 am. The shuttles will use a shotgun approach, rotating to different Livermore Valley wineries throughout the day. We have picked owner/winemaker boutique award winner wineries. Participants will have the option to return to Poppy Ridge to attend the banquet, or attend an additional wine tasting and end the day at the Golf Club at 6:00 pm. McGrail Vineyards and Winery McGrail is known for their use of French, Hungarian and American oak. McGrail's 2008 Livermore Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve won the coveted 2012 San Francisco Chronicle Sweepstakes Red Wine Award. Check out the results for yourself: This was the first time that a Livermore winery beat Napa Valley. There are high hopes for the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, which will be available for us to taste during our visit. Lobster Feed at Picazo Vineyards Back by popular demand, the Lobster Feed lunch will be served at Picazo Vineyards. Jose and Pam Picazo provide a unique setting at their exquisite Italian villa-style home in the foothills of Livermore Valley. They've invited us for a very special day with their very special wines. Picazo's Sauvignon Blanc, made in oak barrels, will complement the meal perfectly. You won't want to miss it!

3 Crooked Vine Crooked Vine we will offer a wine tasting and a barrel tasting. Critics rave about their creamy complex Fume Blanc and fantastic reds that include a wonderful Port style wine. The vineyard has received numerous wine competition awards throughout California. An additional Winery will be added to the agenda at a later date. Sponsorship Information Our sponsors are an integral component to the success of Fun Day. We encourage you to support our event through sponsorships. There are three reasons to sponsor the ISPE Fun Day: 1. Your tax deductible contribution helps us run the Chapter. 2. Your business benefits from the additional exposure. 3. Participants that sponsor play a better round of golf. 4. You will live longer and prosper! Sponsor logos are needed, scroll to bottom of for instructions to upload your logo. Each year, our volunteers assemble promotional gifts bags for all the participants. This is just another feature of the event that makes it special. We need your gift bag donations! This is a great way to advertise your company logo and/or website on an item, and a wonderful opportunity for additional marketing visibility. Please supply at least 130 each of the promotional item for winos, or 200 each of the item for the golfers. Popular items in the past have included bags, visors, sunscreen, wine bags, wine bottle openers, golf towels, etc (suggested value $7 - $20 per item). No fragile items please (e.g. wine glasses). Prizes that are valued at more than $200 must be raffled (tickets to be earned by participants in a manner determined by the sponsor). The sponsor must sell additional raffle tickets to all Fun Day participants during the banquet event to allow any participant the opportunity to win the prize.
