2 2 of 5 3 The Snow Safety Code assumes that there is risk inherent in the sport of skiing, and that individuals must take responsibility for their behaviour in order to minimise that risk to themselves and to others. The code (adapted for Nordic skiing) is promoted within all snowsport areas and is enforced, where necessary, by patrollers and snowsport area management. 4 4 of Clothing, eye and skin protection, and food and water intake are adjusted according to weather conditions and level of activity. 2.3 Nordic skiing practice complies with the Snow Safety Code. element 3 Maintain personal fitness for Nordic skiing. 3.1 Warm-up, cool-down, and stretching exercises are demonstrated as appropriate before, during, and after Nordic skiing. 3.2 The impact of personal diet on performance is described, and an explanation given of how personal diet may change before long distance skiing, racing or events. 3.3 A personal training record is maintained of fitness preparation and training for Nordic skiing.
