Standard Prep Procedure: Composition Rubber flooring Standard Preparation for Composition Rubber Floors There are two basic type of rubber flooring in the Market today. First, vulcanized/composition rubber, which includes brands like Mondo & Nora. The second type is the Recycled Rubber Type floors, otherwise known as recycled tire floors, SBR, and/or EPDM. For preparation of recycled rubber floors, refer to the preparation guide Standard Prep for Recycled Floors. Vulcanized Rubber floors include some of the following brands/manufacturers: Johnsonite Mondo Cor-Terra Nora Floor Flexi-Floor Composition rubber flooring has a smooth very flexible rubbery feel, with various molded textures within the floor. These rubber floors are very aesthetically pleasing and are marketed for areas for sound deadening, comfort under foot, and/or a stick-grip for added safety. Compostion rubber floors with its many attributes, also comes with its challenges in the clean-ability of the surface. For best results, follow the surface preparation procedures below for unfinished composition rubber: Proper preparation of the rubber floor is critical. It must be cleaned and cleaned with the proper type of chemical before finish application. Composition flooring, if cleaned with the wrong type of cleaning chemical, can leach a white waxy product to the surface. This waxy film will prevent proper adhesion of the new finish to the surface and will need to be removed. 1. Remove all furniture and obstructions from the room. 2. Sweep or vacuum area, free of sand that may cause deep scratches in the floor during the cleaning process. 3. Wear proper safety protection when using chemicals. In this case, gloves and goggles are recommended. 4. With Praetorian s CLN-150 Rubber Floor Cleaner, pour undiluted product directly to the floor, liberally but not flooding. Notice the wet surface will have a beading appearance. The cause of this beading is what will need to be removed. 5. With a flat mop, spread the cleaner evenly across the entire floor. 6. With a Low Speed Floor Machine equipped with a maroon cleaning pad, scrub the entire floor. 7. Hand scrub corners to remove dirt and factory finish. The surface will begin to look duller. 8. Clean water rinse and extract solution. 9. If the water is still beading or separating from the surface, repeat steps 4-8. The water should sit on the surface evenly, no waterproofing affect. 10. Clean water rinse and extract a second time. 11. Allow the floor to fully dry. Use air movers to speed the process. 12. The SBR/EDPM Rubber floor is now ready for Altus Catalyzed Urethane Floor Finish, available in Gloss, Semigloss, and Satin Finish. Form 7004J311

Altus Application of Altus TM Altus Application Altus is designed for two different types of floors; Smooth Composition Rubber (Vulcanized) and Luxury Vinyl (LVT). Mixing Instructions: 1. Pour entire contents of Part B, Altus Catalyst, into Part A, Altus container. 2. Replace cap on Part A 3. Gently mix the Part A & B together. Rock the container back/forth, upside down/right side up for 3 minutes. Vigorous shaking is not necessary. This will only result in excessive amounts of air in the product. 4. Follow the below application instructions 5. Pot-Life for this catalyzed Altus will be 8 hours. 6. Coverage approximately: square feet per gallon, one coat. Follow the application instructions below for best results: 1. Properly clean the substrate according to Praetorian Cleaning Guide for each of the different surfaces: Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) Cleaning & Preparation Instructions Rubber Floors Cleaning Instructions For Marmoleum, see separate guide Standard Prep & Application for Marmoleum 2. Allow floor to dry thoroughly after cleaning 3. Best practice, wear foot protection (booties) after floor is cleaned. It is easy to transfer dirt or scuff the clean surface with unprotected shoes. 4. Visually determine start and stop areas of the surface. 5. Mark off caution area with wet floor signage and warnings. 6. Microfiber damp (water only) mop floor to remove any dust or debris that may have contaminated the floor. Mop twice in opposite directions. 7. Prepare a clean flat-head mop for use on application of the Altus. 8. Pour the catalyzed and mixed Altus Floor Finish on the surface. 9. Spread the Altus thinly and evenly (figure-8 motion) on entire floor. 10. Allow Altus to dry minutes. Dry times will vary based on temperature, humidity and airflow. 11. After previous finish application is dry, repeat steps 8-10, two additional times. Total recommended coats of finish, three (3). 12. After floor is dry, remove caution tape/signage 13. In-service time, approximately 60 minutes after final application of Altus For Daily cleaning, use CLN-100 (1oz per gallon water) For easy removal, use Altus Urethane Remover - see application guide Altus Remover Form 7007J312

preparation & Refinish linoleum: CLN-100 & altus Floor Finish Standard Preparation & Application of Marmoleum and other Linoleum Type Floors Marmoleum, a trade name for a type of Linoleum, is a very unique surface for refinishing. Linoleum is a very soft and flexible surface. It is manufactured with color through and through the entire substrate with an attached jute backing. Linoleum surfaces naturally can have an ambering affect, depending upon exposure to UV (natural lighting). Linoleum is more tender than typical LVT surfaces and if not treated with care when refinishing can be easily damaged. Linoleum surfaces, when refinishing, are more like a wood surface in characteristics. Linoleum, when stripped out will become: Dull looking color will appear to be distorted and drab. Do not worry. After the finish (like wood) is applied the color again will pop. Soft Unfinished linoleum is very soft (like most wood) and can be easily gouged or damaged. Grain Lift Linoleum, once the first sealer coat is applied will exhibit a fine bur-like feel, similar to wood grain-lift. This is a result of the composition of the linoleum. Because of this characteristic, for best results, it is recommended that a conditioning step be added to the application process. For best results, follow the surface preparation procedures: Remove all furniture and obstructions from the room. Sweep or vacuum area, free of sand that may cause deep scratches in the floor during the cleaning process. Wear proper safety protection when using chemicals. In this case, gloves and goggles are recommended. Prepare a Low-speed floor machine with a maroon/redwood floor pad or a standard red pad. To Remove Previous Finish: Acrylic Finish: Use PreCept Amine Free Acrylic Remover follow instructions product instructions. Urethane Finish: Use U2O or TitanBOOST to remove existing High Performance Urethane - see Urethane Removal for complete instructions Form 7015J318

For Factory Finish: Surface Preparation: Use Praetorian s CLN-150 Surface Prep & Clean after; acrylic removal, urethane removal, or factory finish preparation. Pour one (1) gallon CLN-150 with four (4) gallons of water product directly to the floor. With a flat mop, spread the cleaner evenly across the entire floor. With a Low Speed Floor Machine equipped with a maroon cleaning pad, scrub the entire floor. This will slightly dull the existing factory finish or clean up the surface after strip out. Hand scrub corners to remove dirt and factory finish. The surface will begin to look duller. Clean water rinse and extract solution. Clean water rinse and extract a second time. Allow the floor to fully dry. Use air movers to speed the process. The floor is now ready for Altus Floor Finish. Altus Application on Linoleum: Wear booties to maintain proper hygiene practices and protect marking the unfinished floor with shoe scuffs. With a clean microfiber mop, sweep the entire surface to remove any dust contaminates that have settled on the floor. Apply the first coat of Altus Floor Finish. Allow the 1st coat to dry, minutes. The first coat will dry very fast. Conditioning step: with a low speed machine equipped with a white pad, go over entire surface to break down the slight rough feel that will be on the surface. This step is not required, but it will improve the best overall look of the finished floor. With a damp microfiber mop, clean the dust from the surface. Do this twice in opposite directions. Continue with two (2) additional Altus Finish coats, allowing 30 minutes between each application. Form 7005J311

Altus refinishing over altus finish TM Follow the surface preparation procedures below for refinishing over existing Altus Urethane: This process is NOT a removal of the Altus. This is a procedure to deep clean and dull the surface to ensure proper adhesion of the re-application of Altus Urethane Floor Finish. 1. Remove all furniture and obstructions from the room. 2. Sweep or vacuum area, free of sand that may cause deep scratches in the floor during the cleaning process. 3. Wear proper safety protection when using chemicals. In this case, gloves and goggles are recommended. 4. With Praetorian s CLN-150 Rubber Floor Cleaner, pour undiluted product directly to the floor.. 5. With a flat mop, spread the cleaner evenly across the entire floor. 6. With a Low Speed Floor Machine equipped with a maroon cleaning pad, scrub the entire floor. 7. Hand scrub corners to remove dirt and factory finish. The surface will begin to look duller. 8. Extract solution from the floor. The existing Altus urethane should now appear dull and clean. 9. If any shiny spots exist, retouch those areas with the CLN-150 and floor machine 10. Clean water rinse and soiled solution. 11. Clean water rinse and extract a second time. 12. Allow the floor to fully dry. Use air movers to speed the process. 13. The SBR Rubber floor is now ready for the re-application of Altus Catalyzed Urethane Floor Finish, available in Gloss, Semigloss, and Satin Finish. Form 7012J316

Altus Remover removing altus urethane TM Removing Existing Altus Urethane Floor Finish with Altus Remover After some time and additional coats are added to floor finished with Altus Urethane 1. Remove all furniture and obstructions from the room. 2. Sweep or vacuum area, free of sand that may cause deep scratches in the floor during the cleaning process. 3. Wear proper safety protection when using chemicals. In this case, gloves and goggles are recommended. 4. Reduce Altus Remover with 4 parts water when stripping GLOSS. For SEMIGLOSS and SATIN Finsh, mix the Altus Remover with only 2 parts water. 5. Spread solution evenly across floor. Spread enough solution to maintain the floor wet. Add more solution to areas that appear to be dry. 6. Allow the solution to dwell for minutes. 7. With a low speed machine and a redwood pad loosen remaining Altus. 8. Extract solution immediately. 9. RINSE AND NEUTRALIZE with Praetorian s CLN-150 Rubber Floor Cleaner, pour undiluted product directly to the floor. This is extremely important for neutralizing the Altus remover. 10. With a flat mop, spread the cleaner evenly across the entire floor. 11. Extract solution from the floor. 12. If any shiny spots exist, retouch those areas with the CLN-150 and floor machine 13. Clean water rinse and soiled solution. 14. Clean water rinse and extract a second time. 15. Allow the floor to fully dry. Use air movers to speed the process. 16. The Rubber floor is now ready for the re-application of Altus Catalyzed Urethane Floor Finish, available in Gloss, Semigloss, and Satin Finish. Form 7013J316

Standard Prep Procedure: Recycled rubber Floors Standard Preparation for Recycled Tire-Type Rubber Floors There are two basic types of rubber flooring in the market today. The Recycled Rubber Type, composition known as, SBR-Type (styrene butadiene rubber) and/or EPDM-Type (ethylene propylene diene monomer). The second type, is the vulcanized type rubber floors, brands such as Mondo & Nora. See application guide for Composition Rubber Floors for instructions on that type of floor. Recycled Rubber Floors are very functional and popular in the fitness markets. Recycled rubber flooring is very flexible and has a soft spongy-like feel under foot. Recylced rubber type floors are favorable in environments to decrease impact on the body and add comfort for floor exercising. However, recycled tire floors have challenges when it comes to clean-ability. The floors have can open pore in the structure causing easy staining and difficulty cleaning. Therefore, finish must to be applied to maintain proper cleanliness standards. When finishing recycled rubber floors, proper surface preparation is imperative. Recycled rubber, because of the composition, chemicals leach to the surface leaving the substrate unfavorable for proper adhesion of the finish. When properly cleaned with CLN-150 and finished with the Fortius Rubber Floor Finish system the Praetorian system will provide superior protection, enhanced appearance, and ease of cleaning. Follow the surface preparation procedures below for unfinished Recycled Rubber Tile: Proper preparation of the EPDM/SBR is critical. Recycled Rubber must be cleaned before finish application. 1. Remove all furniture and obstructions from the room. 2. Sweep or vacuum area, free of debris. 3. Wear proper safety protection when using chemicals. In this case, gloves and goggles are recommended. 4. With Praetorian s CLN-150 Rubber Floor Cleaner, add 4oz. per gallon of water. 5. Spread the CLN-150 solution directly to the floor, not flooding. Notice the wet surface will have a beading appearance. The cause of this beading is what will need to be removed. Note: Use of an autoscrubber with extractor here is favorable. Recycled Rubber floors can become very saturated when washing. 6. With a Low Speed Floor Machine equipped with a black pad, scrub the entire floor. 7. Hand scrub corners to remove dirt and factory finish. 8. Clean water and extract the surface. 9. Repeat steps 5-8, unless water looks fairly clean. Typically the floor will need two thorough cleanings before finishing. 10. Clean water rinse and extract (2 total clean rinses after chemical wash(s) are complete). 11. Allow the floor to fully dry. Use air movers to speed the process. Recycled rubber is very water absorbent and usually will require a minimum of overnight dry time before application of finish. 12. The floor is now ready for Fortius Rubber Floor Sealer and Fortius Urethane Matte Floor Finish, see individual application sheets/instructions. Form 7005J311

Fortius sealer and Matte finish Application TM Fortius Application Fortius is designed for Recycled Rubber Floors (EPDM/SBR composition). Fortius is a two-coat application system. The first coat, the sealer is designed to strongly bond to the rubber floor and dries to a gloss finish. The Fortius Urethane Matte Finish, second and final coat, will dry to a Matte Finish, closely resembling the look of the rubber floor when installed. Fortius Sealer & Matte Finish Mixing Instructions: 1. Pour entire contents of Part B, Fortius Catalyst, into the Part A, container. 2. Replace cap on Part A 3. Gently mix the Part A & B together. Rock the container back/forth, upside down/ right side up for 3 minutes. Vigorous shaking is not necessary. This will only result in excessive amounts of air in the product. 4. Follow the below application instructions 5. Pot-Life for this catalyzed Fortius will be 8 hours. 6. Coverage: Coverage will depend upon the density, openness of the rubber composition, and application method. Sealer: SF Gallon (CF-0971/GKit) Top Finish: SF Gallon (CF-0972/GKit) Pre-application preparations: 1. Properly clean the substrate according to Praetorian Cleaning Guide for the Recycled Rubber Floors. Allow floor to dry thoroughly after cleaning. Recycled type flooring is very porous and requires extra dry time. Water extraction machines are recommended to remove water pooling in the large openings in the floor. 2. Maintain best practice, wear foot protection (booties) after floor is cleaned. It is easy to transfer dirt or scuff the clean surface with unprotected shoes. 3. Determine start and stop areas of the surface. Tape off areas/boundaries, if necessary, using a high quality blue or green tape. 4. Mark off caution areas with wet floor signage and warnings. 5. Prepare a clean flat-head mop. Use a clean mop head for each coat. Note: Do not use the mop heads that are designed for cleaning. Synthetic finish application type mops, mono-filament or rayon (NON-LOOPED), heads will glide across the surface much easier. T-bar application method is also acceptable for application. Form 7008J312

Fortius Sealer Top Finish Application: 1. Pour the catalyzed and mixed Fortius on the surface. 2. Spread the Fortius evenly with flat mop or t-bar. Do not allow pooling of the sealer. Figure-8 methods or line and pull methods are acceptable. 3. Allow the surface to dry completely clear, void of any milky areas. Dry times will vary depending upon temperature, humidity, air movement, and thickness of film application. Sealer Dry time: minutes Top Finish: minutes 4. Pull any boundary tape lines when finish is wet. This will avoid the tape drying into the surface. Light traffic on finished surface after hours. It is best to allow the surface to dry 4-6 hours before equipment is moved back on floor. Full cure, maximum durability, is approximately 7-10 days. Form XXXXXXXX
