Dogs entered in the Veteran s class must also be entered in any regular Class or for Exhibition Only Brace Class Team Class Open to any 2 dogs of any breed and either sex, which has attained not less than a CD title in Canada. It is not necessary that the same person owns both dogs, nor that they be of the same breed, except when entered in a breed specialty obedience Trial. Exercises same as Novice. The Team Class is open to any 4 dogs of any breed that have earned the title of C.D. or higher. It is not necessary that the same person own all dogs in the team or that they be of the same breed, except when entered in a breed specialty obedience trial. Exercises same as Novice. 3 Brace Two dogs of one breed (either sex or mixed) not necessarily owned by the same owner, shown on one lead by one handler. Stud Dog & Get Stud Dog and two or more of his get, not necessarily owned by the same person Brood Bitch & Progeny Brood Bitch and two or more of her Progeny, not necessarily owned by the same owner SEXUALLY ALTERED DOG CLASSES Eligibility for the Altered Dog Classes shall be limited to dogs over 6 months of age which have been sexually altered by veterinary procedure. Points MAY NOT be carried from the regular competition judging to the Altered Dog Class judging. These classes will be judged immediately after Best of Breed of the regular classes. Two classes will be offered: Altered Male & Altered Female Classes will be placed first through fourth in both sexes, the first place winner from each class will be declared Winners and the second place winner will be declared Reserve Winners. The Altered Winners Male and the Altered Winners Female will then compete for Best of Breed Altered and Best of Opposite Sex Altered in breed Please note: An exhibitor has the right to withdraw an entry up to the closing date and time as published in the premium list. This may be done by telephone but written or electronic notification must be received by the Show Secretary no later than the official closing date and time. If written notification is not received by that time, the dog will remain entered in the show. OBEDIENCE CLASSES The following classes will be offered. Please consult the CKC Obedience rule book for details on these classes if you are not certain which to enter. OFFICIAL CLASSES Pre Novice For any dog which has not earned the title of P.C.D. A dog that has earned the title of C.D. is not eligible for this class. Novice A For any dog which has not earned the title of C.D. No person who has previously trained or exhibited a dog through its C. D.X title shall be allowed to handle a dog in this class. Novice B For any dog which has not earned the title of C.D.. No dog may be entered in both the Novice A and Novice B class at any one trial. Novice C For any dog which has earned the title of C.D., C.D.X., U.D., or any Obedience Trial Championship Title prior to the closing date of the trial in which it is to be entered. Scores earned by dog in the Novice C Class are not eligible for High in Trial and do not qualify a dog for any title. Novice Intermediate For any dog which has earned the title of C.D., C.D.X., U.D., or any Obedience Trial Championship. Please do not send entries by Registered Mail. To comply with instructions issued by the Canadian Kennel Club, we will be unable to accept any entry reaching our Show Secretary after the closing time and date. Please allow ample time for delays in the mail. ATTENTION U.S. EXHIBITORS: Current exchange rates favour the American dollar. To take advantage of this please, pay by credit card, purchase bank drafts or money orders in Canadian dollars. Personal cheques will be accepted however, they must be payable for the FULL AMOUNT OF THE ENTRY, payable in U.S. funds. Discounted cheques will not be honoured. Do not mark personal cheques payable in Canadian funds or "at par". Tendering of an NSF cheque in payment of entry fees will be considered non-payment of entry fees and is an offence punishable by CKC disciplinary action and cancellation of awards. The owner of a dog entered in this show is entirely responsible for any error in the entering of his dog, regardless of how, or by whom the entry was made. Prizes will be offered for: Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, Best of Winners, Best Puppy in Breed, Winners Male, Winners Female Select Male, Select Bitch, and Best Veteran. Agility At the Alberta Kennel Club CKC Agility Trials on Monday, August 4 th the Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of Canada (Southern Alberta Section) is pleased to offer a rosette & prize to the Belgian Shepherd earning the Highest Qualifying Score (HQS) in Trial 4 and to the Belgian Shepherd earning the highest qualifying score in Trial 5. In the case of a tie the fastest qualifying score will determine the winner. In addition a prize and rosette will be offered to the Belgian Shepherd earning the highest qualifying combined score in Trials 4 & 5. Dogs must be entered in both trials to be eligible for the combined score award. In the case of a tie the fastest combined qualifying score will determine the winner. Rally Obedience The BSDCC (SAS) is pleased to offer rosettes & prizes to the Belgian Shepherds achieving the HQS in Rally Novice A & B combined, HQS in Rally Advanced A & B combined, HQS in Rally Excellent A & B combined and HQS in Rally Advanced Excellent in the Alberta Kennel Club s Rally Obedience Trial #3 on Saturday, August 2 nd. Divided by coat variety: Groenendael, Tervuren, Malinois & Laeken. Veteran for any dog, 7 years of age or older on the day of the show. These dogs do not compete for Winners, but the winner of this class shall go on to compete for Best of Breed. Dogs competing in this class may be spayed or neutered. Specials Only for any dog who is a Canadian Champion. A CKC Registration or ERN must be indicated on the entry form at time of closing The entry of a 'listed' dog in Specials Only is not allowed. NON-REGULAR CONFORMATION CLASSES Baby Puppy Class Dogs 3 months of age and under 6 months of age on the day of the show Exhibition Only dogs entered in this class may not compete in any Regular class but may enter and compete in Non-Regular classes and/or Parades if provided for in this premium list. Exhibition Only Puppies 3-6 months of age on the day of the show may be 3-6 Months entered in Exhibition Only, providing that the owner of the puppies has also entered a dog in one of the regular official classes. These Puppies may not participate in any regular, non-regular or unofficial classes or Parades. SPECIALTY ONLY CLASSES Juvenile Sweepstakes To Compete In Juvenile Sweepstakes Class, Dogs Must Be Entered In a Regular Class, Or For Specials Only. Entry In Juvenile Sweepstakes From The Exhibition Only Class Is Not Allowed. Classes will be divided by age and sex as follows: 6-9 months 9-12 Months months Veteran Sweepstakes Dogs entered in the following classes may be spayed/neutered and entered from a Regular class, Veterans Class, Specials Only or Exhibition Only. 5 ATTENTION ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS Effective Jan/1992 all dogs that are foreign-born and foreign-owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) events will no longer require a CKC registration number but will require an ERN - Event Registration Number. This ERN does not register a dog with CKC for breeding purposes as defined in the Animal Pedigree Act but rather enables a foreign-owned dog to be awarded titles by the Canadian Kennel Club. Each dog must have its own number. To obtain an ERN, mail or fax a photocopy of the dog's foreign registration certificate with cheque or VISA/MasterCard number (expiry date, cardholder's name and signature). Provide your complete address for return of the ERN to you. Cost is $55.00 plus GST. ERN MUST BE APPLIED FOR WITHIN 30 DAYS OF FIRST DAY OF ENTERING A CKC EVENT. A CKC ERN registration form can be downloaded from the CKC website: CKC FAX NUMBER (416) CKC Non-Member Participation Fee Non-member participation fee a) An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee is ($ % GST). b) In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled. c) "these fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by Canadian resident non- CKC members and are not applicable to CKC members" *Please note that the CKC Membership Application and the Non-Member Participation Fee forms are available on the website, under CKC Services and then Forms On-line. If submitting a Membership Application, please ensure that you also complete the Non-Member Participation Fee form so that we are aware of the dogs involved. CHAMPIONSHIP POINT SCHEDULE The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points awarded Winners shall be as follows: *DOGS COMPETING & More POINTS ALLOCATED *Includes the dog awarded Winners In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified, dismissed, excused ordered from the ring by the judge shall not be included in the calculation for championship points.
