The Scolaris loader features loading notifications, error logs and facilities to rollback, all as standard. Staging and publishing Upload, preview and QA your content within a staging environment before switching content to live instantaneously and with zero downtime. Data enrichment at load Scolaris can be closely integrated with the Luxid semantic enrichment and tagging software platform from our partner TEMIS. This enables automatic tagging and faceting for many different types of entities, including people, places, dates, diseases, symptoms, treatments, species, chemical names, companies and many more. Additional curated content The on-board CMS has powerful in-page editing functionality enabling you to add and edit additional curated content to your platform. 6 The Scolaris Linking Hub The Scolaris Linking Hub is a simple, scalable way to link diverse content together across multiple sites. The Scolaris Linking Hub has been developed to help publishers communicate the full wealth of their online information. With the Linking Hub, users on one site can discover and link to related content on other sites within the same ecosystem. Users are offered a full view of all your content, links to related documents and access to multiple content types. Widgets are simply added to all platforms in the ecosystem to give users this full view while visiting any one platform, making it easier for them to search and discover the full wealth of your content offering. 7 The Scolaris Reader The Scolaris Reader is browser-based PDF reader with DRM. The Scolaris Reader liberates publishers from standard PDF readers that cannot accommodate particular layouts or designs without significant compromise to content and user experience. With the Scolaris Reader you ll achieve optimal display for your PDF content through a customisable and fully branded interface. The Scolaris Reader enables the delivery of rights-managed PDF ebooks through a variety of business models, including sale and rental. DRM is enabled by an innovative technical solution - during a fast batch-upload, PDFs are converted into high-quality tiled JPEG images which are then served to the reader via HTML 5.0. Standard features include automated concept and synonym matching (e.g. Bird Flu / Avian Flu / H1N1), variant spelling (e.g. Orthopaedic / Orthopedic), suggested results as you type and did you mean... Browse Scolaris supports multiple browsing scenarios. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) All content hosted on Scolaris is optimised for search engines and we offer also specialist support for our clients with varying needs in this space. Web scale discovery & content preservation Scolaris enables the automated deposit of article metadata to A&I databases and other third parties; the delivery of journal article metadata in support of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI); integration with content preservation repositories; provision of article metadata through an OAI-PMH repository; and the delivery of content services through XML APIs. Related article linking Scolaris calculates similarity scores between all content items in the platform in real time. This semantically related content is presented in a configurable navigation panel alongside each content unit and/or surfaced in search results. Integrated search and delivery Scolaris can ingest and output multiple XML DTDs as well as PDF and other file types. 9 Delivery & reporting Standard or fully configured Scolaris is built on an open-source technology stack. It is robust, scalable and incredibly fast to deliver. Scolaris has a full feature set and can be deployed to serve simple solutions straight out of the box. So if you do not have complex content requirements, Scolaris can get your content to market with minimal configuration. Mobile passport Scolaris can enable users to register for an off-campus or mobile passport which is valid for a set number of days and will allow the user to continue accessing the website even when outside the institution s IP address range. 10 Standards & tools Scolaris supports and adheres to industry standards including reference linking via CrossRef and CrossMark, OpenURL, COUNTER 4, ORCID and reference management software including EndNote, RefWorks and Mendeley. Scolaris is compliant with the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 (Level AA). These standards ensure products delivered with Scolaris are fully accessible with assistive technologies and that separate resources for disabled users will not be required.
